For many this is the ultimate destination in their quest for health. They come with a foreknowledge that their limited financial resources, religion, caste and creed will not remain an impediment in accessing quality health care at BCH. Managing Director's Report Its on honor fo be a part of the team that has served in this hospital as we celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the Baptist CChrision Hospital, Tezour. Dr. Charles Merchant and his team embarked on along jouney across the seas, in obedience to the Call of God, to come to c remote part of North East India and establish this hospital that has served milions of people trom the poor and the marginalized communities of this area. God has remained faithful fo his word and has token this hospital from strength to shength. This s clearly evident from the work and the commitment ofthe slaff of this hospital. For the last 60 years the focus has been on bringing affordable qualty healthcare fo the poor and the marginalized. Our mission is very clear ~ al patients who enter the porta ofthis hospital should be cared forin the best possible way ond limited financial resources, region, caste or creed willnot remain an impediment to accessing this care. That has not shifted and just in the last decade we have provided care to more than half a milion outpatients and inpatients. tis very important fo realize that what has been done in the past is very essential for what we need to do in the future. ‘Tezpur is fast becorring an urban area. But as we look at the need around us and the numerous people who don't even ‘access heatth care, we realize that the only way we can continue on our mission is fo go ourinto the communities. Through the lost yeor we have had many doctors and nurses who have joined our ever growing forly and this helped us stabilize the hospital alowing us to move info communities with healthcare. The empanelment of the hospital under the RSBY scheme also helped us in provicing cashless treatment fo those who has access to ths facilty We continue to partner with the various government agencies and educate people and empower them to access the various government schemes that are available. The CHDP team under the leadership of Dr. Pratibha Milton has been relentiss in the pursuit of ensuring that all people with disabilties con have access to the rellef program available for them through the government. Their workin the areas of human trafficking, poverty alleviation by providing sustainable Evethoods, vaccination ‘against chilchood diseases and creating resiient communities has been remiorkable. The Amalgamated Plantations Private Limited partnered with us in these areas in their feagardens on a pilot basis and were amazed to see the changes that have ‘occurred in a shor time in these communities. ‘Allances and partnerships with ike minded organizations was iniiated by the Christian Coalition for Health in India. Though these are in the initial stages, we believe that these partnerships are essential fo enabiing the advances in heatthcare percolate to the poorest of the poor. The biggest challenge in working in an organization Tke ours Is fo find the fine balance in the financial sustoinabitty of the ‘organization. This can be done through a variety of measures ike recucing wastage of resouxces, rationale for recruitment of staff, reducing cost of medications through use generics and ensuring that only the equipment that is cbsolutely necessary i purchased. Through the last year, the administrative team has formed processes and checks to ensure lower expenaiiure in the ‘organization. Mr. Jagdish Solanki, Dr. Vikrant Millon and Ms. Runa Kumar and their feams have spectheaded this area ond their efforts have encbled us to add assets fo the tune of more than 15 millon rupees. The statutory regulations for the hospital ‘re allin order and Mr Jagaish Solanki deserves to be applauded for his. With the arrival of Dr. Wungramthing, the hospital has been able fo add c new speciatty of pediatric intensive care last year. This the only facilly in the region covering a radius of 400 kms. The cfetary tacitly was renovatled and fully fumished with the latest equipment. This was done in response to the patient feedback asking for the uo gradation of the facilty. Beck and Call services Private Ltd. isin operating the central kitchen that coters to the diet of patients, stoff and students of the hospital. An ‘oxygen generator providing medical grade oxygen was purchased tha! enabled the continuous supply of oxygen fo all departments of the hospilal.
