CORK EXPANSION JOINT FILLER

ASTM-D 1752 TYPE II

DESCRIPTION:
Standard Cork Expansion Joint Filler is produced from clean,
selected, granulated cork, bonded together securely with an insoluble resin. Sheets are
molded to desired thickness under heat and pressure. Standard Cork is highly resilient,
will compress without extrusion, and recover to 95% of original thickness.
USE: Standard Cork is suggested for use where it is essential that the joints be kept
sealed at all times; such as in sewage treatment plants, flood walls, spillways, filtration
plants and in numerous commercial and industrial applications. Recommended and
compatible with all hot-pour and cold applied joint sealants.
APPLICATION:
Standard Cork of required thickness should be installed as detailed
in drawings. The material is positioned against the forms, at interrupting columns or
objects or adjacent abutting structures before placing concrete. Specifications usually
include the recommendation of a polymer-based sealant.
