Five Little Ducklings Went Out to Play

Five little ducks went out to play Over the hill and far away Mama duck said "Quack, Quack,
Quack" And four little ducks came waddling back.
Four little ducks
Three little ducks...
Two little ducks...
One little duck went out to play Over the hill and far away Mama duck said "Quack, Quack,
Quack" And no little ducks came waddling back.
No little ducks went out to play Over the hill and far away Mama duck said "QUACK, QUACK,
QUACK" And five little ducks came waddling back!
For this Activity: Use yellow feather dusters found at most $1.00 stores. You will need one large
and five small yellow feather dusters, 4 large wiggly eyes, and 10 medium wiggly eyes, and a
piece of orange felt to make beaks.
Turn the feather dusters upside down so that the feathers are sticking up. Glue the big eyes on the
large one for the Mother duck. Cut a large bill and hot glue it on for the mouth. Do the same for
all of the little ones with the smaller eyes and make smaller beaks with the orange felt.
6 Children will hold the ducks by the handle. As you sing, Five Little Ducks went out to play
over the hills and far away, the mother duck called "Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack, and only 4
Little Ducklings came back. Have the children act out as the class sings. Take turns making sure
everyone has a chance to be a duck!

Six little ducks

Six little ducks, That I once knew
Fat ones, skinny ones, little ones, too
But the one little duck, With the feather on his back
He led the others, With a quack, quack, quack (have children make quacking noises for this and
all quacks that follow)
Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack

He led the others

With a quack, quack, quack
Down to the river
They would go
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
To and fro
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack
Back from the river
They would come
Wibble, wobble, wibble, wobble,
Ho, hum, hum
But the one little duck
With the feather on his back
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack
Quack, quack, quack,
Quack, quack, quack
He led the others
With a quack, quack, quack

Happy as can be. (Have children do big smiles)

Quack, quack, quack

They are full of glee. (repeat)
They jump in the water (jump up and down)
And bob up and down,
Quack, quack, quack,
they swim all around.
(repeat)
All the little ducklings (swimming motion)
Swimming far away.
Quack, quack, quack,
They'll play another day.(repeat)
