ASSIGNMENT
GRADE TEN/ELEVEN DRAMA ADA2OI/ADA3OI
This assignment will span the time frame from now until the end of the
semester. The project will consist of student created thematic scripts and
short monologues related to a theme that will be chosen by the class. Your
scene can be dramatic, comic or a combination of both, but it must have a clear
GENRE.
Task One: Students will be put into groups of 4 or 5. Your group will vote for
a group leader who will delegate the work and make sure you stay on track.
The leader will report to Mr. Furmaniuk on a daily basis about your progress.
The leader will make sure that all group members are contributing equally
they should NOT be doing more total work than the other group members.
Your group will create a 15-20 minute script that deals with the theme. All
scripts must contain a dramatis personae, lighting, sound cues, prop and
costume lists.
Task Two: All of the scripts will go through a guided peer editing process
and all class members will have a chance to read and give input on all scripts
before they are finalized.
Task Three: In addition to your script, every student will also create a one to
two minute monologue based on the character they are playing in your scene.
You will be guided through this creative process. Your group will devise a way
of integrating all of the characters monologues into your piece.
Task Four: A large part of your mark is also generated from the way you use
the in-class rehearsal time. Make sure you are always focused and making the
best use of your time.
Task Five: Each groups final presentation will be about 20-25 minutes. Pay
particular attention to transitions between the monologues and group scene.
