5/8/14 Hey, Ms. Summers! I wanted to thank you again for being a great teacher and mentor to us. Your guidance through something so difficult like a foreign language was a blessing. Curtis and I honestly planned our schedules around your class' availability. I had other Spanish teachers before and they were incredibly difficult and boring. You developed new ways to keep us engaged, taught us a lot and even had a smile on your face despite having to drive an hour every day. I probably won't be satisfied with my grade because I know I could have done better (assuming I pass) but that was my fault because I never really thought I could learn it until this semester. In the last two months, I've progressed an enormous amount and have even made friends in other countries whom I can actually communicate with, something I would never attempted before I met you. Again thanks for being awesome, because you didn't just teach me Spanish, you inspired me to continue learning it, which is what I plan to do this summer. Hopefully I can get good enough to make it a resume padder, but either way your course evaluation on my part will definitely reflect everything I've said. Next time you see me I plan to be able to hold an engaging conversation with you in Spanish. Have a great summer! Hasta luego!

COMMENT: First, the course is pretty difficult. Foreign languages are not easy and the amount of information covered in four semesters is a lot to grasp. However, Senora Ramirez was my favorite teacher at USM. Despite her driving more than an hour every day for class, she always came with a positive attitude and developed new ways to engage the class. I learned so much in such a little time with her and I actually planned my schedule around her availability this semester. She was a blessing to have because I was worried about this foreign language requirement for my major. Although my grades weren't great (I blame the hard cirriculum, not her) I achieved something even greater: I was inspired by her to pursue learning more about the language in the future instead of deciding to just drop it when I finish the class. Even though I don't have anymore requirements for foreign languages, I will still continue to learn Spanish because of her. COMMENT: She made the class easy to understand!! I enjoyed Spanish because of her! COMMENT: Great Teacher!! COMMENT: I LOVED THIS CLASS!! Senorita Ramirez is a great professor! She is the best Spanish professor that I have had USM.
