<Motivation>
Our topic for today is
Purchasing Wood Lumber
Linear feet are used to denote length
that measures 12(inches) in Length of
the wood/lumber.
L/12 = linear foot
Bring out scratch paper to solve this
problem
Example, constructing an 8 foot
bookshelf with 2x4s(Width x Length)
would require 8 feet times 4 which is
equal to 32 linear feet of 2x4s.
So to calculate for the linear feet, simply
add the length of the different pieces
together.
