OBJECTIVES:

Create a structured environment where students are challenged both


mentally and physically while being held accountable
Offer experiences educating students that physical activities increase
overall health, energy and fitness levels, and provide opportunities to
release emotional tension from everyday life
Build leadership skills in competitive and non-competitive team
environments
Develop interest and appreciation for the benefits of living a healthy
and active lifestyle
Educate the students on the importance of setting goals and how to
develop action plans to achieve them
Help students realize that committing to action plans and reaching
smaller goals they will often see positive progress as they work
toward a long term goal
To increase efficiency of fundamentals and skills such as locomotor
and manipulative skills in complex and game-like situations, along
with cardio respiratory endurance and strength.
To develop skill, interest, and appreciation for the need of life-long
learning, activity, recreation and overall physical condition.

WORKOUT CLOTHES:
All students will dress in P.E. uniform and may NOT wear P.E.
uniform other than in the gym. (Red shirt and black shorts) Shorts
should be mostly black and MUST meet dress code.
To ensure safety of each student, student is required to wear proper
athletic shoes.
Students will dress out every day unless otherwise instructed. They
will dress out even if they have a note to excuse them from P.E.
Student will be required to take their clothes home to be washed on
Friday. Some students may want to wash them more than once a
week.

CLASS PARTICIPATION:
Everyone is expected to participate in all physical education activities
everyday to the best of their ability, unless they have a note from
home or a doctor. (points will be deducted from the students grade
if desirable effort is not observed)
Parental excuse notes can be written for a maximum of 2
consecutive days. A doctors note is required for longer duration.
Only 3 parent notes are allowed per NINE WEEK grading period,
after that, a doctors note is REQUIRED!!
Notes from home will only be accepted for 2 consecutive days;
afterwards students will be required to return to activities without a
doctors note.
If a student uses a doctor note, then the student will need to get a
release note from that doctor stating that the student may return to
physical activities.
If the student brings a note to sit out of P.E., the student will not
participate during recess.
Students can bring written excuse to the coach before attendance. If
sitting out, then student will be required to dress out and then work
on homework, read a book, or have an alternative assignment from
the P.E. coach.
The students will have 3 minutes to get dressed out and to their
designated spot.

LOCKERS:
Every student will receive a locker. It is the students
responsibility to keep all personal belongings secured at all
times. Please keep your lockers locked!!!
Students will receive a lock and combination from the school.
It is their responsibility to remember combination and keep
locker locked at all times. Being responsible for lock and
keeping locker secure is part of the students daily grade.

BEHAVIOR/ACTIONS:
o All students are expected to show respect to classmates,
teachers, themselves, PE equipment, all school facilities,
equipment, and follow all school rules at all times.
o All students will follow all procedures in PE class, failure to
comply with the above may result in disciplinary action.
o Failure to dress and be in their designated spot under the
allotted amount of time will cause the student to be tardy.
o Showers are NOT an option.

GRADING POLICY:
o Each day the student can earn a maximum daily grade of 20 points.
20 points: dressing out in full uniform, participation,
and locker/lock responsibility.
