    4.9InternetSafetyandUseofTechnology

    4.9.1AccesstoTechnologyResourcesTheBoardpermitsrestrictedandconditionalaccessto
    anduseofitstechnologyresources,includingbutnotlimitedtocomputers,theInternet,
    networkstorageareas,andelectronicmail.Suchaccessanduseisrestrictedtoemployees,
    students,andotherpersonswhoareengagedinbonafideeducationalandadministrative
    activitiesthatserveandareconsistentwithidentifiededucationalobjectivesorauthorized
    supportfunctions,andwho,bysigninganAcceptableUseAgreement,agreetoabidebyall
    Boardpolicies,rules,andregulationsregardingtechnologyuse.TheAcceptableUseAgreement
    willbedevelopedbytheSuperintendentforapprovalbytheBoard.

    4.9.2RestrictionorLossofTechnologyPrivilegesPersonswhoviolateanyBoardpolicy,rule,
    orregulationregardingtechnologyusemaybedenieduseoftheBoardstechnologyresources
    andmaybesubjecttoadditionaldisciplinaryaction.

    4.9.3OwnershipofTechnologyResourcesandDataAlltechnologyresources,including
    networkandInternetresources,e
    mailsystems,andcomputersorotheraccessdevicesowned,
    leased,ormaintainedbytheBoardarethesolepropertyoftheBoard.Boardpersonnelmay,at
    anytimeandwithoutpriornotice,access,search,examine,inspect,collect,orretrieve
    informationofanykindfromtheBoardstechnologyresources,includingcomputerorrelated
    equipment,files,anddata,todetermineifauserisinviolationofanyoftheBoardspolicies,
    rules,andregulationsregardingaccesstoanduseoftechnologyresources,fororinconnection
    withanyothermatterorreasonrelatedtothesafeandefficientoperationoradministrationofthe
    schoolsystem,orforanyotherreasonnotprohibitedbylaw.Usersofschoolsystemtechnology
    resourceshavenopersonalrightofprivacyorconfidentialitywithrespecttotheuseorcontentof
    suchresources.

    4.9.4AdoptionofRulesandRegulationsTheSuperintendentisauthorizedtodevelopfor
    Boardapprovaladditionalormorespecificrulesandregulationsregardingaccesstoanduseof
    itstechnologyresourcesandtotheBoardofEducationrequiresadherencetosuchrulesand
    regulationsthroughsuchmeansastheAcceptableUseAgreementandapplicationof
    appropriatedisciplinarypoliciesandprocedures.Suchrulesandregulationswilladdressor
    provide:
    a.MeasurestoblockorfilterInternetaccesstopicturesthatareobscene,thatconstitutechild
    pornography,orthatareharmfultominors
    b.RestrictionofaccessbyminorstoinappropriatematerialontheInternet
    PolicyManualEffectiveJuly1,2015

    c.Thesafetyandsecurityofminorswhentheyareusingelectronicmail,chatrooms,andother
    formsofdirectelectroniccommunications
    d.Preventionofhackingandotherformsofunauthorizeduseoforaccesstocomputeror
    Internetfiles,sites,databasesorequipmentand
    e.Unauthorizeddisclosure,use,anddisseminationofpersonalinformationregardingminors
    and
    f.Restrictionofminorsaccesstoharmfulmaterial.
    g.Educatingminorsaboutappropriateonlinebehavior,includinginteractingwithother
    individualsonsocialnetworkingwebsitesandinchatroomsandcyberbullyingawarenessand
    response.

    4.9.5DisclaimerTheBoardmakesnowarrantiesofanykind,eitherexpressorimplied,that
    thefunctionsortheservicesprovidedbyorthroughtheBoardstechnologyresourceswillbe
    error
    freeorwithoutdefect.TheBoardwillnotberesponsibleforanydamageusersmaysuffer,
    includingbutnotlimitedtolossofdataorinterruptionofservice.
