Steps 1. Set the basic attribute parameters.

NodeB ID indicates the Node B site id

Steps 2. Configure the E1/T1 cable.

i. In the configuration management tree, click Transmission

Resource Management > Physical Media Configuration
> E1/T1 Link.

Parameter description:
Board Name: indicates through which the SDR accesses
to E1/T1. For B8200, E1/T1 is accessed through
SA board physically, but SA board does not do any actions

on E1/T1. Common group is done by CC board.

Logically, E1/T1 is CC access, so the board herein is CC
by default and you can not change it.
Link ID: indicates how many pairs of E1s are used. SA
board introduces 8 pairs of E1, corresponding to link
0~7, respectively. If the link id of E1 line is 0 as shown
in the figure, using the first pair of E1 line, it is the pair
of E1 line with number 1 and 2. The link id configured
in this step will be introduced while configuring HDLC
path parameters. The E1 link used by an HDLC path is
identified by the link id of this E1 link.
Link Type: indicates the type of peer equipment that

Step3. Configure the HDLC parameters.

i. In the configuration management tree, click Transmission

Resource Management > IP Bearing Configuration >
HDLC Parameter.
ii. In the HDLC Parameter interface, right-click and select
Add, set the proper parameters, as shown

Parameter description:
HDLC ID: The number begins with 0, automatically increasing
once a record is added. It is automatically
by the system and you need not change
configure an HDLC for one E1. HDLC ID
this step will be referenced while configuring parameter
in the next step.
Bearing Type: Select E1.
Link ID No.: The number of E1 link that
channel, that is, the Link ID configured
If you add two links (0 and 1) in E1/T1 Configuration,
there are two options: 0 and 1.
TS-bit mapping relation: The E1 timeslot occupied
by HDLC channel. By default, one channel
uses the timeslot 1~31 for this E1.
it on demands. For E1 transmission, the
is 1~31 while timeslot 0 is used for synchronization.
For T1 transmission, the timeslot range
timeslot 0 is used for synchronization.

Step 4. Configure the PPP parameter.

i. In the configuration management tree, click Transmission

Resource Management > IP Bearing Configuration >
PPP Parameter.
ii. In the PPP Parameter interface, right-click and select
Add, set the proper parameters, as shown

Parameter description:
PPP ID: The number begins with 0, automatically increasing
once a record is added. It is automatically set
by the system and you can leave it unchanged.
PPP encapsulation: only use an E1 cable at Abis and
select PPP; use multiple E1 cables and select ML-PPP.
MP header style: if the PPP encapsulation is ML-PPP,
long indicates to use 24bit to identify the sequence
number of ML-PPP frame, short indicates to use 12bit
to identify the sequence number of ML-PPP frame. If
PPP encapsulation is PPP, MP header style is invalid.
MP priority: if MP header style is set to long or short,
you can set the MP priority, 1 by default. If Mp header
style is set to invalid, MP priority is invalid too, 255 by
default.
Link ID No., Link 0, Link 1, and Link 2 are used to
set the HDLC channel (HDLC ID) used by this PPP link.
For PPP encapsulation, only link 0 is valid. For ML-PPP
encapsulation, you can select multiple links based on
the planning data.
Base station IP: the IP address that is used to communicate
iBSC by SDR. Note that this address is the
external address for SDR. Do not set it to the internal
address for the boards of the SDR site. The internal address
is only required while logging in other boards by
using LMT or through master CC board.

step5. Configure the global port parameters.

In the configuration management tree, click Transmission
Resource Management > IP Bearing Configuration >
Global Port Parameter.
ii. In the Global Port Parameter interface, right-click and
select Add, set the proper parameters, as shown

Parameter description:
Global Port ID: global port ID is generated automatically,

beginning with 1.
Working mode: IP Over Ethernet/IP Over PPP. If
transmission media is FE, select IP Over Ethernet; if
transmission media is E1, select IP Over PPP.
Port ID of link layer: indicates the port number used
in protocol stack subsystem on the base station. The
value is generated automatically and you need not
change it.
Using VLAN: Currently, do not use VLAN.
Vlan ID: For FE transmission, set it based on planning
data. For E1 transmission, it is invalid. This item is
valid if checking the Using VLAN mark. The range is
2~4094, 65535 indicating invalid.

STEP 6.Configure the IP parameters.

i. In the configuration management tree, click Transmission
Resource Management > IP Bearing Configuration >
IP Parameter.
96 Confidential and Proprietary Information of ZTE CORPORATION
Chapter 6 LMT Configuration

ii. In the IP Parameter interface, right-click and select Add,

set the proper parameters, as shown

Parameter description:
IP ID: The IP number used by protocol stack.
IP address, subnet mask: indicates the IP used while
the base station accesses to base station controller. It
is not required to fill in.
Gateway address: indicates the IP address of IPBB
for base station controller. It is not required to fill in.
Configured Bandwidth(kbps): This parameter configures
the available bandwidth for current IP based on
network planning setting.
For E1 access, you can set it to N*1984, in which N is the
number of E1 (the bandwidth for each E1 is 2048kbps
and there are only 31 available timeslots, so the result
is 2048*31/32=1984).
Class of service: set the COS priority corresponding
to this IP. Based on different service priorities, you can
prefer to select the proper IP. You can configure multiple
IP addresses on the base station. This option determines
the service class that can be carried on current
IP address.

STEP7. Configure the SCTP parameters.

i. In the configuration management tree, click Transmission
Resource Management > IP Bearing Configuration >
SCTP Parameter.
ii. In the SCTP Parameter interface, right-click and select
Add, set the proper parameters, as shown

Parameter description:
Association ID: the unique SCTP identifier in global
base station. The default value is 0.
Radio Mode: select GSM for GSM network.
Local IP Address: select it from the IP address list
configured in IP Parameter, indicating which IP address
is used to set up the link between iBSC and SCTP
on the base station. Select the actual IP address used
while the base station accesses to iBSC.
Local Port ID: specify the port number used while the
base station sets up the SCTP link with iBSC. Pick the
any value within 1~1536, that is, the GSM site ID on
NetNumen. It is set by the system automatically and
you can not change it.
The local port number is generated automatically here
after configuring the local site id. If this field is blank,
you can first set Site ID in Configure Basic Attribute.
Remote port ID: the SCTP por number used by iBSC.
It indicates the port number used while the SCTP link is
set up on iBSC. This port number is calculated through
proper algorithm on iBSC. The value of remote port ID
equals to 0x3900 plus the CMP module number that
belongs to this base station.
Remote IP AddressFill in with IP Abis address (virtual
RPU address).
Number of in-and-out streams: set it to 6 by default.

STEP 8. Configure OMCB parameter.

i. In the configuration management tree, click Transmission
Resource Management > Channel Maintenance
> OMC-B Parameter.
ii. In the OMC-B Parameter interface, right-click and select
Add, set the proper parameters, as shown

Parameter description:

Base station inner IP: use default value and can not
change it.
Operation and Maintenance Gateway IP: the IP address
of OMCB channel.
QOS: select EF service (0xB8).

Steps 9. Configure the main rack 1 (BBU).
