What is that faith whereby we are saved?


A. Faith in general is defined by the Apostle
1. evidence and conviction of things not seen
B. Taking the word in a more particular sense
1. Faith is a divine evidence and conviction.
2. It is by this faith, we are saved.
3. Justified and
4. Sanctified.

III.

How we are saved by it.


A. This faith is the only condition, which is immediately and
proximately necessary to justification and sanctification.
1. No man is justified till he believes; every man when he
believes is justified.

Justification
A. It is another word for pardon
1. It is the forgiveness of all our sins
2. Our acceptance with God
B. The price of justification
1. It was the blood and righteousness of Jesus
C. The immediate effects of justification
1. A the peace of God
2. A peace that passeth all understanding

3. A rejoicing in hope of the glory of God
