Autonomy is defined as the duty to allow the individual the right to make his or her

own decision decision (Masters-Farell, 2007), Conflicts arise often when individuals
or persons decides and it conflicts with the health team, such as refusing to receive
treatments. In this case, even though it is against of its not the preferable will of the
health team, however the principle of autonomy says that professionals must
respect the decision made by the person.
