Principal letter for recommendation for Pascale Thomas

To whom it may concern,

I have known Pascale Thomas since August 2012 when I joined GEMS World Academy as its Secondary
School Principal. At that time Pascale was a High School Counselor and has since become Head of
Department.
GEMS World Academy is approaching its seventh year of existence and currently has approximately 1025
students in the secondary school. The school has seen exponential growth during these seven years that
has required the secondary faculty to be adaptable, flexible and of good humour to be able to cope and
impact an ever-changing landscape. During the last three years Pascale has created and established a
credible and highly effective college counseling program at GWA that has supported the GWA community
to the full. Through her efforts and dogged determination we now have universities regularly on campus to
meet our students and has subsequently raised the profile of GEMS World Academy worldwide. Pascale
currently leads three other counsellors within her department and leads by example, setting high standards,
demonstrating excellent follow through and respecting and implementing process. Pascale has forged
extremely positive and conducive relationships with both curriculum directors at both MYP and DP level
and the result has been our student learners and parent community always being at the fore. As Pascales
direct supervisor, I thoroughly enjoy working with her and have seen the impact she has had upon the
school in the time she has been here, the progress made has been outstanding.
As the school has grown and a need to have a much more structured admissions procedure has been
required, Pascale was instrumental in implementing a secondary admissions and placement
protocol/procedure. The procedure has made placement of students much more guided, considerate and
most importantly, accurate.
Like all committed counselors Pascale has been the key facilitator of both the Prom and Graduation, two
events I have been part of and, very impressed with. The organization, follow through and attention to detail
really shone through as they were met with aplomb by all who attended. They matched anything I have
ever seen in seventeen years of international education.
Needless to say, Pascale has established a pro-active, inviting counseling program that actively involves all
students, parents and teachers. Pascale builds positive relationships with students, staff and families by
supporting and ensuring confidentiality in all personal matters. Through her experience she is able to assist
students to develop life skills to enhance their personal, social and academic growth and does so regularly
and effortlessly.
Over the last three years I have worked with Pascale at close quarters when dealing with a variety of
student concerns and each time her level of professionalism and commitment to the well-being of the
student has been second to none. Pascale is an outstanding counsellor
I recommend Pascale Thomas, unreservedly, for any similar position in any school lucky enough to hire
her.
