    Artists Statement Lawrence A. Jankowski "Legends of Fifinella is a commemoration of the Women's Air force Service Pilots of WWII. As a Viet Nam era veteran, my experience in the armed forces was everything one could ever imagine and more. It takes an immense amount of courage from each man and woman to do what they do every day, when called to duty. Many have heard the familiar phrase: 'Its more than a job, its an adventure'. And I may add, an experience indescribable. I took my honorable discharge, on a leap of faith, to study art and design, and it has been a long winding road of many trials and tribulations. Through this art, I express my gratitude and appreciation to our soldiers, and especially to the history of aviation. Addressing, Aviation, may sound bias, but I am an Air Force Vet. as a vet, through my art, I wish to continue painting historical, but admirable, personalities."
