For Ethiopian woman, requiring a home for

collateral was a barrier to accessing credit. WEDP
has helped partner MFIs experiment with
alternative forms of collateral, such as cars and
personal guarantees, which now accounts for 41%
of collateral pledged. The total collateral coverage
to WEDP loan size averages 213%.
