One year some bad insects attacked our
forest. Each day they destroyed twice
as many trees as they did the previous
day. In seven days the entire forest was
gone.

think that they have $40 altogether,
but actually they have only $25.
Can you explain?

Unicellular
Organisms that are made up of
only one cell are called unicellular.
They contain everything in that one
cell that they need to survive.
E.g. Bacteria

Multicellular
More complex organisms
like humans are made up of lots of
cells.
multicellular organisms are made
up of many cells.

Multicellular Organisms
Cells in a multicellular organism all
contain the same organelles BUT,
they have different shapes
depending on what job they have
to do.

Specialised Cells
All of the cells in an organism contain
the same DNA.
This does not mean that all of the cells
perform the same function.
Cells read different parts of the DNA
so they can perform different jobs in
the body.

Specialised Cells
The cells are able to do different
jobs in the body and they can even
change their shape to suit their
job.
