Dear students,

Herewith we formally confirm you the SOPRA assignment for the


last project-stage that has already been explained verbally.
Underneath you will find the required research questions and the
weighing factors for the grading.
Hopefully it will answer all remaining questions you have about this
assignment.
We set the deadline on June 26th and will plan a company
presentation in week 27 (June 29th- July 4th).
We would like to invite representatives of Alfen at either the 1 st or
2nd of July at 10.30 in Arnhem. During this meeting you will be
asked to present your findings. The way you present your project
and defend your choices will be graded. The grading of the
presentation/defence might be differentiated on an individual basis
if performance justifies an individual approach. It might be obvious
that as a result of that attendance is compulsory for everyone.
Please make sure you will be available.
Please let me know (before 11th of June) if you really cant make it
on the dates suggested above.
We will inform you as soon as possible if we have a final date.
Please focus at questions 3 and 4 when you present your project.

Assignment Sopra:
The assignment will be graded as a group assignment. For
weighing factors see percentages behind every question.
1) Describe your approach and results of project stage 1, the
country analysis. (30 points)
2) Describe your approach and results of project stage 2, the
industry analysis. The industry analysis is applied on the
selected countries in project stage 1: kenia, Ghana and Ethiopa
(10 points)
3) Build a tool in Excel. This tool will be offered to Alfen to assist
their sales people. It will be used to build individual business
cases for potential customers. It will define value drivers and
give insight in the consequences on expected margin for Alfen
and benefits for customers. (40 points)
a) Define your organizational and financial assumptions.
b) Explain underlying choices and sources.
c) Give an overview of how value drivers relate to each other
and how they influence final results.
d) Present a tool that can be used by Alfen-sales people or
clients to calculate potential financial benefits. We assume
that customers will be Business Units of an international
company and that this tool might assist them in their
decisions.
e) Looking at your tool, what would you advice Alfen. Can you
define potential markets/customers.
4) Reflect on all project stages. Describe pros and cons in the
value of your approach and results. (20 points).
