Show dates: January 21-23 2010.
Location: The historic Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Italy.
Buyers: The show reported 8,750 buyers, an increase from the last winter show. WGSN noted a strong international
presence from both visitors and exhibitors - As well as Italy there were visitor increases from Russia, US, the UK and
Belgium, with a slight decrease from Spain, Germany and Japan.
Exhibitors: 504 Brands exhibited at the fair of which 167 were from outside Italy.
Mood: There was a real air of recovery this season. Raffaello Napolene, CEO of Pitti Imagine said: "These are important
attendance figures that show a change in trend following the difficulties experienced by international fashion in recent
months and seasons."
Categories: Baby, boys, girls, accessories, footwear, denim and sportswear for the mid and designer markets are all
covered thoughout the show.
Highlights: Curated collection displays at Apartment, Paul Smith Junior and Little Paul & Joe, Bonnie Young and Ermanno
Scervino Junior for materials & details, Replay & Sons collection and stand design, Notify for denim direction, Roberto
Cavalli catwalk show, Monnalisa and il Gufo evening catwalk show events.
New launches: Custo Growing from Spain and Notify from France both launched new kidswear collections based on their
successful adult lines. Paul Smith Junior relaunched its kidswear brand after an absence of eight years though French
licensee Zannier Group. My+ Disney, a new licensed collection, produced in collaboration with Little Paul & Joe and
Essentiel, has produced a capsule boys collection for the first time to sit alongside their girlswear.
Catwalk shows: Altana Group, Calvin Klein, Custo Growing, Elsy, Ice Iceberg, Il Gufo, Miss Blumarine, Miss Grant,
Monnalisa, Roberto Cavalli and Sarabanda.
