CHAPTER ARCHIVES BUILDING TIP

A few months ago I decided to try to copy and preserve all the old photos and other
information about my chapter, Indiana Beta, that had been published in Indiana
University's Arbutus Yearbooks. I found that the library had copies of the Arbutus since
1895 available for anyone to review.
I contacted one of the student assistants in the library and "hired" her to go thru all the
old copies of the Arbutus 1895-2008 and scan the pages dealing with Phi Kappa Psi
into .jpeg or .pdf format. She did all this work for me for about $150 over a couple of
months and I now have a CD containing photos of the chapter, lists of officers, photos of
the house and other historic information from about every year for the last 110 years.
I am providing copiesto the Phi Psi Nat'l Headquarters, so that copies will be
preserved and available for future generations.
It was a fun, easy and not too expensive a project, so I thought I would pass along the
idea to others who might be interested in doing similar things for their chapters.
