The unprecedented global proliferation of undergraduate
translation programmes over the last three decades or so has ‫ﺷﻬﺪ اﻟﻌﺎﻟﻢ ﻓﻲ اﻟﻌﻘﻮد اﻟﺜﻼﺛﺔ اﻷﺧﻴﺮة اﻧﺘﺸﺎرا واﺳﻌﺎ ﺑﻮﺗﻴﺮة ﻏﻴﺮ ﻣﺴﺒﻮﻗﺔ‬
emphasized the ever increasing market needs for ‫ﻟﺒﺮاﻣﺞ اﻟﺘﺮﺟﻤﺔ اﻟﺠﺎﻣﻌﻴﺔ؛ وهﻮ ﻣﺎ ﻳﺆآﺪ ﺣﺎﺟﺔ اﻟﺴﻮق اﻟﻤﺘﻨﺎﻣﻴﺔ ﻟﻤﺘﺮﺟﻤﻴﻦ‬
multidisciplinary-trained translators. The training of ‫ وﻣﻦ اﻟﻤﺘﻮﻗﻊ ﻋﻠﻰ اﻟﻤﺴﺘﻮى اﻟﻨﻈﺮي أن ﺗﻌﻤﻞ‬.‫ﻣﺆهﻠﻴﻦ ﻓﻲ أآﺜﺮ ﻣﻦ ﺗﺨﺼﺺ‬
undergraduate students to become professional translators is ‫هﺬﻩ اﻟﺒﺮاﻣﺞ اﻟﻬﺎدﻓﺔ إﻟﻰ ﺗﺪرﻳﺐ اﻟﻄﻼب اﻟﺠﺎﻣﻌﻴﻴﻦ ﻟﻴﺼﺒﺤﻮا ﻣﺘﺮﺟﻤﻴﻦ أآﻔﺎء‬
theoretically expected to meet the demands of the work place, ‫ ﺑﻤﺎ ﻓﻲ ذﻟﻚ اﻷﻋﺮاف واﻟﺘﻘﺎﻟﻴﺪ اﻟﻤﺘﺒﻌﺔ ﻓﻲ‬، ‫ﻋﻠﻰ ﺗﻠﺒﻴﺔ ﻣﺘﻄﻠﺒﺎت ﺳﻮق اﻟﻌﻤﻞ‬
including the norms and conventions of the potential hiring %٩٠ ‫ وﻋﻠﻰ اﻟﺮﻏﻢ ﻣﻦ أن اﻟﺘﺮﺟﻤﺔ اﻟﻔﻨﻴﺔ ﺗﺤﺘﻞ ﺣﻮاﻟﻲ‬.‫أﻣﺎآﻦ اﻟﻌﻤﻞ اﻟﻤﺤﺘﻤﻠﺔ‬
institutions. However, despite the fact that technical translation ‫ﻣﻦ ﻣﺘﻄﻠﺒﺎت اﻟﺘﺮﺟﻤﺔ إﻻ أن اﻟﺪراﺳﺎت اﻟﺘﺮﺟﻤﻴﺔ رآﺰت ﻋﻠﻰ اﻟﻨﺼﻮص‬
accounts for almost 90% of the translation work, translation ‫اﻷدﺑﻴﺔ ﻓﻲ ﺗﻄﻮر وﺿﻊ ﻧﻈﺮﻳﺎت اﻟﺘﺮﺟﻤﺔ واﻟﺘﺤﻠﻴﻼت اﻟﺘﺠﺮﻳﺒﻴﺔ ﻟﻠﻤﺘﺪرﺑﻴﻦ ﻓﻲ‬
studies has traditionally focused on literary texts in the
