Poetic Techniques Presentation

Year 9 Summative Group Task

You will be assigned groups of 5 or 6


Each group will have two poetic techniques to cover in their
presentation
In the presentation you will:
o Define the poetic technique
o Explain why it might be used in a poem and how it
contributes to the emotion
o Provide your own example of the technique
o Give at least 2 examples from poems you have
researched
Can be from textbook, internet or other sources,
but must be appropriate, and you must show the
author
Comment on how the technique contributes
to your appreciation/understanding of the
poem.
Other things I want to see

o Group notes for the presentation
A powerpoint and/or pictures are not required, but feel free
to include them if you think it will add to your presentation!
