    Why Harmony Day?
    • March the 21st is the Day of eliminating all
    forms of racial discrimination
    • In the Australian Government it is called
    Harmony Day
    • The theme for 2010’s Harmony Day is
    BELONGING
    How do people celebrate?
    • They might go to the Harmony Cup, like
    they did in 2004 and 2005. (The Harmony
    Cup is a football game).
    • They might have a barbecue. Perhaps the
    food could be kosher or halal.
    • They could have a working bee.
    • They might remember harmonious people
    in the world or in their lives.
    Observations on March 21st
    • Harmony Day is generally the time of the
    spring/autumn equinox.
    • UNESCO celebrates World Poetry Day.
    • The Arab world celebrates Mothers’ Day.
    • It is also the start of the Baha’I year.
    • Poland has Truant’s Day.
    • It is Trisomy 21 day (chromosome 21 3
    times, reflected in the date).
