Description
This is an example of a test at the end of a unit plan. It is a test for a
lower level Spanish class. It covers vocabulary referring to different
sports. It covers the conjugation of present indicative verbs and also
the use of verbs like gustar. At the end of the test, there are a few
questions covering the culture of the unit plan. The test covers various
types of questions including multiple choice, fill in the blank with
pictures, fill in the blank questions, and true and false.
Rationale
I wrote this test in the way I did because I wanted to create a variety of
types of questions. Some students prefer multiple choice, while other
students would rather have fill in the blank. I wanted to have questions
for all types of learning. I also tried to create an equal amount of
vocabulary questions and verb conjugation questions. I created
questions to be straight forward and with as little possible confusion as
possible.
Reflection
I think this test does a good job of creating various types of questions
for students to answer. It is important to present different types of
questions because some students might prefer to answer a certain
type of question while other students would prefer another. When
reflecting on the test, I realized that I could have added a listening
section to the test or perhaps a reading comprehension section where

Description
This is an example of a midterm exam for students in an upper level
Spanish class. The exam covers numerous grammatical concepts that
the students must know. Furthermore, the options of how to ask these
questions vary; the test includes fill in the blank, direct translation,
multiple choice, and small essays. The students are given some option
in which questions they want to answer on some sections.
Rationale
This test would be an affective form of assessment as a midterm exam
to see which concepts students understand. The variation in how the
questions are posed gives all students equal opportunity in answering
questions of the exam depending on which types of questions they
prefer. The midterm covers a vast amount of information, with a wide
range of vocabulary and grammatical concepts. Furthermore, most
questions require students to produce their own answers, which can
help with the authenticity and difficulty of the exam.
Reflection
I think this is an excellent example of a midterm exam. It does an
adequate job at offering various types of questions that the students
must answer. For the level that the students would need to be to take
this exam, it offers enough difficulty to challenge them, but not
discourage them while taking the test. Again, after reflecting on this
midterm exam I realized there could have been some listening or
speaking aspect added to the midterm exam. This should have been
added because there may be some students who prefer or are better
at listening or speaking activities so adding them would help create an
equal amount of questions for all type of learners.
