The Ansonia American Legion Post 50 is sponsoring a collection of goods for active
duty service members this weekend on Saturday, October 31. Post 50 member Adam
Avenia, along with Alyssa Antonucci, will be at the Nolan Field parking lot at 350
Wakelee Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept donations. Toiletries, socks, hats,
blankets, books, cards, letters and snacks are examples of what may be appreciated by
those serving overseas. There will also be a can for donations to help defray the costs
of shipping. The public is encouraged to show their support of deployed military
members by participating in Adam and Alyssas kind efforts.
