Domestic Violence
It was a fresh, breezy day to go outside to run. Pamela M. Prah was getting ready to go
out for a run. She walked outside to the sidewalk, put her earphones and started jogging. Every
time she goes out to run she sees the same old lady. The old ladys name was Melissa J. Doak.
Pamela introduced herself to Doak, and told her that she always sees her running. They started
talking about how they both should not jog alone because there are crazy people that stalk others
without the person knowing they can get kidnapped. Prah and Doak both mentioned about
domestic violence and how the government should build up more protection for the victims that
have been assaulted, but Prah was not agreeing to what Doak was trying to explain. Instead of
having a friendly talk about preventing domestic violence, they both disliked each others
opinion.
*they start to jog together
Pamela M. Prah: Dont you just love this weather?
Melissa J. Doak: Ugh yes! It calms me down and makes forget about all the things that stress me
out
Pamela M. Prah: But dont you get scared running alone around our neighborhood? A stranger
can all of a sudden pop out of nowhere take you somewhere unknown.

*Melissa stops Pamela from running and they both starts yelling at each other
Melissa J. Doak: Are you dumb?! Of course I get scared! According to research I conducted
at home, alcohol and drug abuse is a substance abuse that causes domestic violence, and is a
factor in physical abuse and stalking. Back in 2004, 18.4% of victims believe their sex offenders
were using alcohol, 5% were using both alcohol and drugs, 5% had been using drugs only, and
1.1% had been using either use alcohol or drugs.
Pamela M. Prah: Oh really? You do not even know the real statistics here in United States. In a
normal day, three women are murdered by their spouses or by a stranger. Thousands of women
get injured, and luckily not die. Any one of us can be harmed with domestic violence, but if you
did not already WOMEN are the ones getting hurt more!
Melissa J. Doak: Im not that stupid! If domestic violence often happens then what the fuck are
we waiting for! We need to prevent more protection for the victims of domestic violence. We got
to help the victim by giving them the power, encouragement and the support they need to stop
the danger they are going through. The United States have developed programs to help abused
women: hospitals, clinics, mental health center, social services agencies, and shelters. Some
women keep their problems of abusing to themselves because they feel shame and have fear to
ask for help. NO ONE should ever feel ashamed to ask for help.
Pamela M. Prah: All these preventions we have created for victims of domestic violence these
past recent years and it still not enough help!? The Government spends billions of money every
year for these specialized programs to help victims of domestic violence on shelters, hotlines,
and police training sessions, judges and prosecutors. The United States has enough programs to
be spending even more for more years. Victims should really seek for help to help them with
their emotions they go through when they are sexually assaulted.

*She came towards Melissas like if she was about to yank her hair
Melissa J. Doak: Well I think YOU ARE WRONG when you mentioned that the United States
has enough prevention for domestic violence. IT IS NEVER ENOUGH. The government always
helps the people in need and with providing more programs for victims would help make our
community a better place to feel safe. WE WILL add more programs to make our women feel
better about themselves and not go through the emotions and trauma they suffered before.
Domestic violence is very harsh to a point where the suspect can kill the victim. I believe no
woman should ever suffer of being abused with someone who is not going to treat her right
through the rest of her life. Our country will fight for domestic violence until it comes to an end
and harm no women. I dont you have anything to say right Pamela? NO I didnt think so either.
*flips her hair and leaves to continue her jog
