To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great pleasure that I am writing this letter of recommendation on
behalf of Meghan Mastroianni. Ive had the pleasure supervising Meghan for
the past year and a half, during which I have watched her mature and
develop into an extraordinary young leader. Shes had a tremendous impact
on those around her and myself. She is extremely driven and focused young
woman.
My first interaction with Meghan was when she was the secretary of the
Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She was dependable, fun loving,
and dedicated. She did such a great job that I appointed her President for her
senior year. Even though she had a full schedule, she still managed to
maintain a 3.81 GPA. During her presidency, she was charged with many
duties, but her first task was to form an executive board. She put together a
team that was diverse, driven, and enthusiastic. This allowed for her many
successes.
During Meghans leadership at Seton Hill University, SAAC raise more than
$1,300.00 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, which was the most raised for
SAAC in the schools history. Meghan was also the liaison for Team IMPACT,
an organization that pairs special need kids or children with terminal illnesses
onto a collegiate, varsity athletic team. She also created a fabulous
mentorship with Propel Homestead Charter School in the inner city of
Pittsburgh that still continues today. Meghan also was an intricate part of
bringing National Student Athlete Day to SHU. Her dedication during her
presidency is undeniable. She not only supports all member of her board, but
she supports her fellow student-athletes.
One of her defining moments that stand out was when we invited Propel to
come visit SHU. We invited them to come on a campus tour and to enjoy two
of our home basketball games. During this visit, Meghan was preparing for
her game, however, following her game she greeted and engaged the
students with a smile and enthusiasm. Because of her strenuous hours of
preparation, and efforts put into that day, those students will remember that
day for the rest of their lives.
I feel that Meghan will be an exceptional teacher. She has an overwhelming
love to serve and be a role model for those around her. If I can provide any
additional information for you regarding Meghan, please dont hesitate to
contact me at kkey@setonhill.edu or via phone at (314) 750-6097.
Sincerely,
Katari Key
