POVERTY, INEQUALITY AND DRUGS

1. What's the article about?
The article has since there is afraid principally the poverty and the inequality of
opportunities, observing the poverty as an important problem for Colombia
since many persons meet affected specially the rural poiblacion, in addition it
treats the bad distribuccion of resources exists in Colombia, also they us speak
each other in the document of in Colombia it has been in a cycle of violence for
armed groups which spend a lot of money in cultures of coca, which affect the
persons in rural zones.
It treats of since in many cases the persons who exist in Colombia do not allow
them the igalitarian participation in the works and also that often this also sees
reflected in the studies of the children doing mas difficultly that they could
break the cycle of poverty.

2. What's your opinion about the article?

2. Often let's think that the poverty to diminished by what they say the
statistics to us, since we believe everything what the mass media say, but we
never look what they us surround and that the poverty is a very big problem in
Colombia where principally it is for this fight of lands that exists in Colombia
where we find the government and the armed groups, increasing hereby the
violence and in urban places of the country and seeing that the population is
the one that mas affected meets and suffers for these fights of land, in addition
we are in a country in which discrimination is very strong and always it looks
badly at the person who less has, it is for this that we must change these
thoughts of consumerism and treat of that an equality exists.

3. In your own words describe what is poverty and inequality.

3. POVERTY: the poverty is quite that one situations in which you present do
not possess the basic resources to live as for example a food, a ceiling etc.
INEQUALITY: it is the bad distribution of resources in which the persons with
more power always are going to choose and dominate the persons who do not
have to be able, an example is the distribution of lands that exists in Colombia
where the biggest areas them have persons with power and other persons are
dominated by this little that the areas have.

4. As a social worker, how can you contribute to dicrease this social

problem?

4. trabajo social it fulfills a very important paper, since this profession allows to
treat these problems of poverty and inequality, but in a different way since it
allows to work with the person directly and his reconstruction of human rights,
the social work allows to see the reality of the problem to present strategy that
allows to go out of the poverty, where the persons are listened and tries in a
rapid way to give solution.
