July 2015

Dear Activities Director,

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) has some outstanding upcoming
events that would make wonderful group outings for your organization. Consider bringing a
group to our popular FREE, professional summer Jazz under the Stars concert series. Bring a
picnic, blankets and lawn chairs and sit back and relax. There are still two remaining concerts:
The Laura Varcho Quartet (popular vocal standards) on August 15 and the Bobby Selvaggio Jazz
Orchestra (sax) on September 5. All concerts are on the historic square in Medina from 7-9pm. In
the event of rain, concerts will be at The United Church of Christ, 217 East Liberty Street, in
Medina.
Want to avoid the hassle of driving to Clevelands Playhouse Square? Then hop on the ORMACO
Party Bus which departs from Buehlers River Styx in Medina and let us entertain you. On the
bus youll enjoy a delicious boxed lunch, flowing wine and a trivia quiz. After seeing a great
show, you will board the bus to enjoy more wine, chocolates, cheese and homemade cookies on
the return trip. Seats are still available to see Bullets over Broadway on October 11, 2015, A
Gentlemans Guide to Love and Murder on November 15, 2015, Andrew Lloyd Webbers version
of The Wizard of Oz on December 6, 2015, and Mama Mia on March 13, 2016. All-inclusive
tickets are available for as little as $66 per person.
This fall, dont miss a unique opportunity to experience the sounds of Central Asia. Thanks to a
generous grant from The Ohio Arts Council, the Alash Ensemble from the remote Republic of
Tuva will thrill you with their throat singing and indigenous tunes on their native instruments.
The musicians have won numerous international awards in Tuvan throat singing, a technique
allowing vocalists to sing multiple pitches at one time. This free concert is on October 17, 2015 at
8pm at Highland High School Auditorium.
Kicking off the 2015-16 World Tour of Music concert season is Russian Duo. Oleg Kruglyakov,
balalaika virtuoso, and Terry Boyarsky, masterful pianist, team up for exuberant performances of
soulful, passionate music. Their collaboration highlights the mysterious sounds of the balalaika
underscored by the vast expressive range of the piano. Dont miss this diverse range of music on
November 7, 2015 at Black River Middle School Auditorium for just $10. February 2016 is steel
drum month with The Univerisity of Akron Steel Drum Band at Wadsworth High School on
February 4 and Oberlin College OSteel at Wellington Middle School on February 18.
Seating goes quickly for these popular events, so visit our website at www.ormaco.org to learn
more and phone 330-722-2541 to make your group reservations before it is too late. We look
forward to seeing you. For without culture, man has no soul!
Yours sincerely,
Thomas Sigel
