1.1.Skill practice drill


Aiming/grass line

Try the four drills using


forehand then repeat
using backhand. Once you
find you can achieve a
consistent aiming line then
complete the 4 end Test
Yourself practice using
your preferred method and
score your bowls. This
practice will allow you to
see and understand how
your bowl travels.

Aiming Line Methods


Gauge where bowl will
start to bend. Place
marker at this point. Bowl
over marker.

Carefully place your
feet at he angle you wish
to bowl along and look 1
2 meters to a spot on
the green.

Place a target on the
Aiming line jack high
(directly opposite jack on
centre line). Bowl down
the aiming line to reach
the target. Note the
curvature of your bowl
4.
After previous drills
place an object (eg bowls
bag) on bank in line with
your aiming line. Before
delivery trace an
imaginary line back from
object along green and
deliver down this line
towards the object.
