Reflective learning Journal

Module 1.
The learning journey of this course is full of new memorable experiences. I was using few
technology tools but not taking the benefit of these tools for educational and professional
learning. Now, I know the importance and need of the educational technology tools.
Being in the teaching profession, I was struggling with the advancement of technology and now
by going through the content of this course, I am confident that I can master this skill. In the first
two weeks, I was considering this course as a most challenging course of the program. Then I
started my working by researching the materials, watching tutorials and using the tools and
different applications. Now I am using technology in my each assignment. I do not want to stop
this journey after finishing the course because the technology is changing rapidly and if I will
stop, how can I be a technology person?

Module 3.
Working on the assignments provide us a great opportunity to explore the learning. I am using
power point presentations from many years but I did not try to play with the different available
options on the tool bar. While working on the assignment activity log choice, I got an
opportunity to work on different options like slide master, action buttons and customizing
templates. In the beginning, I was thinking that I can do the assignment easily but later I realized
that it is very challenging. I used U- tube clips and tutorials on Linda.com to complete the
assignment.
Technology exploration and analysis assignment gave me a chance to explore different
technology tools. My group members were very co-operative. We installed different tools on our
smart phones to collaborate for the learning journey. It was a fun to have virtual meetings. I
watched different u-tube tutorials and did web research to master the tools.

Module 4
Educational technology tools help the educators to make the teaching and learning process more
interesting, safe and meaningful. In the beginning, I know less than 10 tools that can be used in

the classroom but now I know nearly 40 technology tools. This is exciting for me. This learning
journey is full of surprises and innovations. I can use this learning in the number of ways while
working as an educator. It is easy to use differentiate instruction according to the needs of the
student by using technology tools. Blogs are helpful for literacy activities, podcasts can used in
the number of ways and wikis facilitate the students for collaborative project working. These
tools help the educators to achieve the diversity in the learning styles. Few tools are still
challenging for me but now I know the ways to master the tools. Cousera and Moocs provide
good options for the professional development at no cost.

Module 6
Exploring social media sites like twitter, Linkedin helped me to create and manage my online
persona. In the beginning, when I did a web search, I was shocked to see my Facebook links on
the internet. Then I changed the settings of the different accounts to manage my online persona. I
did a lot of research on my different accounts and finally managed my private settings. Now I am
satisfied by linking right accounts. I am updating my resume on the Linkedin and tweeting
professional tweets on twitter. Now I am confident that I have created a professional social media
presence. These social media sites are facilitating me to convey an appropriate message about my
personal interests. Twitter is helping me to create a great network of educators. Linkedin is
helping to make and build my professional network. Twitter is a great tool for joining groups,
chats and posting interesting items of my profession. These tools enable me to make my profile
stand out.

Module 7
While preparing for the quiz, I got an opportunity to look back at the course content and to make
connections in the course content of different weeks. I took printouts of all presentations related
to the review questions. I feel more comfortable with hard copies when I need to see the
connection of different topics. I studied all the presentations and made a search on the new
topics. I spend time and energy for reviewing the quiz topics. In the beginning, I was scared of
new technology tools but after studying the course content, I am feeling more confident and
knowledgeable on the topics of educational technology. I did a lot of web research, watched
Lynda tutorials and you-tube clips to master the different tools. I review the course content of
each module by slate and saved important materials on my system. I prepared my own notes
while searching for the challenging topics and assignments.

Technology exploration and analysisThe advancement in the technology is rapidly affecting the education and teaching learning
strategies. E-collaboration plays an important role in the education.

It facilitates the teacher to connect with the educators of the world and exchange the

information.
E Communication tools like google hangouts facilitate the educators to take expert help

for the class projects.

E- Collaboration tools promote the opportunities for professional development and career

advancement through online learning.

It saves energy and time by virtual meetings.
Technology tools help the teacher for differentiate instruction in the classroom according
to the learning styles of the student.

I learned these tools by web-research, watching you-tube tutorials and Lynda tutorials. To use
these e- collaboration tools in the real time, all the group members start to communicate by
using these tools. We did virtual meetings by google-hangouts, texting and talking by voxer
and whats app. This assignment was really exciting and interesting, all the group members
enjoyed this assignment and we are still using these tools for our other assignments too. ECollaboration can be implemented, by the safe and meaningful use of educational
technology, in the education.
