INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND
The plan should guide the LEAs use of education technology for the next three
years.

List specific start and end dates (7/1/xx to 6/30/xx). Provide a brief overview of

I checked several researches before setting up the technology plan for my school.
The main goal of plan we have created is to give constant internet and technology
access to all students and staffs to gain 21st century technology skills and make
learning meaningful for all students by integrating variety technological tools.

Based on the technology plan I have reviewed, technology has a clear influence on
students perception. The plan indicated that technology opens many paths for
students at different academic levels to see real life connection as they study a
particular subject.
Describe the connection between the research and the plans goals.
They have many goals in common. One of common goal is to provide training for
teachers about new technologies throughout the year by providing professional
development opportunities for teachers. Our plan is more local comparing the
research plan.
Describe information gathered from site visits, including best practices.
The admin team and Cluster IT visited one of the best school district in the city
and received presentation from host school about their technology plan. They
presented their feedback to staff and stakeholders during different meetings. LEA
will ask community to make donation twice a year to have some support to renew
technological tools they have.

CURRICULUM COMPONENT CRITERIA.


The Plan must establish clear goals and realistic strategy for using
telecommunications and information technology to improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe teachers' current access to instructional technology and current use of


digital tools.
1. What technology is currently available to all teachers?
All teachers have access to laptops, docking station, projectors, Mimio Pad, IPad,
document cameras, smart boards, printers& scanners, classroom phones, personal
phones, school database, eduphoria.
2. How are hardware and software currently being used in classrooms at each
grade level and in each content area?
All teachers have a laptop which is used for planning and instructional purposes and it
is connected to printers and school servers to make prints and reach students
information. All elementary classes have IPAD sets, middle school classes have
chrome book sets and also each high school student has chrome book. Beside these,
different grade levels also have certain softwares to use in their classes.
K-3 students use go math software in their math classes.
5th -9th grade students use Aleks in their math classes.
5th-9th grade students use Study Island in their ELA and Science classes.
4th -5th students use rocket math in their math classes.
8th -12th grade students and teachers use graphing calculators and software in their
math classes.
ELA teachers use compass learning software in their classes.
LOTE teachers use Rosetta stone.
ESL classes use Reading eggs.
Teachers and students have access to database
Teachers use eduphoria to upload their lesson plans and check students previous
years state and school wide academics data.
Describe students' current access to instructional technology and current use of
digital tools. Include a description about the LEA policy, practices, and/or
replacement policy that ensures equitable technology access for all students.
1. Is technology currently available to all students?
K-5 students are able to use computer labs on weekly basis. There are two computer
labs in the school one of them is for K-5 students. They also have IPad classroom sets
for each class. 6th -8th grade students have chrome book sets in their classrooms to use
for different educational purposes in each content area. 9th -12th have their chrome
books to use in all classes and do research which is given in different content area.
2. How is technology integrated into the curriculum being used to provide
powerful learning opportunities for all students?

All middle and high school students has year-long or quarter long projects which has
technology component. Middle school students do one project in their core classes in
each semester. They are required to prepare digital presentation of their findings.
High school students choose a year-long project from their math or science classes
which is multidisciplinary project. It requires students to create a website and put
together all component of their project on their website through the year.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for using
technology to improve teaching and learning. Describe how these goals align to
the LEA's curricular goals that are supported by other plans. Describe how the
LEA's budget (LCAP) supports these goals, and whether future funding
proposals or partnerships may be needed for successful implementation.
1. What funding sources, including federal, state, or local programs are
available to support the plan?
The school district has a four year federal funds to use to support the technology plan
and will apply to renew it after four years. School admin team will present their plan
to state to get funds for their technology plan to make sure the students have
appropriate technological skills. There are some national and local business
companies which support schools about technology. School will take their technology
plan to business companies to get funding.
2. Are targets for improvement in student achievement being met?
Yes, It is going to be met. Students need to improve their mathematics and literature
foundation to be college ready. By using different software in their classes through
the school life, they will have a solid foundation in these particular subjects.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, to address
Internet Safety and the appropriate and ethical use of technology in the
classroom.
1. What LEA board policies will be or have been developed to implement
Internet safety instruction?
School district will have certain internet safety software to be installed to all
laptops, computers and electronic devices.
Servers will be replaced with new ones every 5 years to protect school internet
security.
2. How and when will teachers and students learn about implications of legal
and illegal file sharing?
Teachers will have training from professionals before school starts and at the
beginning of second semester. There will also be online training for all teachers once
a year.
Students will learn about it during the first assembly at the beginning of each
semester from a guest speaker. It will be also part of computer class curriculum to
give students information about internet safety, legal and illegal file sharing.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT


The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Summary of the teachers' and administrators' current technology proficiency and


integration skills and needs for professional development.
1. Are administrators able to support teachers with the integration of
technology into daily curriculum?
Admin team is able to support teachers about technology and new software. They
encourage teachers to go to training about new technology and implement it in their
classrooms.
2. What do teachers and administrators consider as their needs for professional
development?
Each subject area has different needs about technology since they use different
software. They all would like to get training from professionals about new
technologies and software before school starts and during the school year.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment
data and the Curriculum Component of the plan.
1. What professional learning will be available so teachers and administrators
can effectively use technology to assist with student assessment?
Admin team will get training about how to use eduphoria to interpret students data.
They will also get training about how to use iPad to do teacher formal and walk-in
evaluation.
Each content area teacher will get training about the software they are expected
integrated in their class. All new teachers will get a detailed training about database
and eduphoria.
INFRASTRUCTURE, HARDWARE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, SOFTWARE, AND
ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPONENT CRITERIA
The Plan must include an assessment of the telecommunication services,
hardware, software, asset management, and other services that will be needed to
improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the existing hardware, Internet access, electronic learning resources,


technical support, and asset management already in the LEA that will be used to
support the Curriculum and Professional Development Components of the plan.

1. What technologies are available to facilitate home/school communication


such as email, web pages, and voice mail?
School IT manager updates school websites daily to inform parents and students
and community about event at school. School also sends Wednesday mail to all
parents via email and paper copies. There is also school reach which is mainly
used to inform parents in case of emergency or short notice. School sends voice
mail and text messages to all parents via school reach.
2. Is the current Internet service provider /Wide Area Network Connection
speeds able to meet the LEAs needs?
It is able to meet LEAs need. There are some minor issues which are not very
common.
Describe the technology hardware, electronic learning resources, networking and
telecommunications infrastructure, physical plant modifications, technical
support, and asset management needed by the LEA's teachers, students, and
administrators to support the activities in the Curriculum and Professional
Development components of the plan.

1. What licensing opportunities (group buys, site licenses, open source, or


discounts) are available?
School currently has graphing calculator software for all 8th and upper grade math
teachers. They also have amazon cards if teacher needs to buy something for
academic purposes. There is also discovery education and online textbook access for
teachers and students.
2. Will students and teachers be able to access their work from any location in
the school or from home?
Teachers and students are able to access their work from any location in school if they
use any computer or laptop under school domain. They cannot access it from home.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT

The plan must include an evaluation process that enables the school to monitor
progress toward the specific goals and make mid-course corrections in response
to new developments and opportunities as they arise.

Describe the process for evaluating the plan's overall progress and impact on
teaching and learning.
1. Who will oversee the data collection, analysis, and program modification
process?
District superintendent, principal, district academic director will oversee modification
process.
2. What indicators of success will be used (e.g., number of students successfully
meeting grade-level standards and advancing to the next grade, reduced
dropout rate, increased attendance)?
There will be several success indicators, but mainly state test, number of students
meeting grade-level standards will be main indicators.
Describe the schedule for evaluating the effect of plan implementation, including
a description of the process and frequency of communicating evaluation results
to tech plan stakeholders.
1. How often will data be collected and summarized? Who is
responsible?
Data will be collected at the end of each quarter and summarized. District data
analyses director and dean of academic will be responsible.

2. How will teachers, parents, and other stakeholders provide


suggestions and opinions in the evaluation process?
There will be campus need assessment meeting in May each year. All
stakeholders can give their feedback and suggestions during these meeting.
They can also use school suggestion link from LEA website to give their
feedback which will be seen by principal and district superintendent.
