Summary of Implementation:
For my reading websites, I would have my students use Youth Voices
to share what they think about a selected reading passage. I feel this website
would show my students how important it can be to share your thoughts with

others in a respectful manner. I could partner this tool with the reading
comprehension worksheets from RHL School by having students complete
this worksheets in order to understand their reading passage more clearly. I
could also use Grammar Book as a resource for my students when they
complete essays or research papers.
The math websites Math Tutor and Buzz Math would be good
homework websites for my students for extra practice and maybe even extra
credit activities. These tools would make it easy for me to track my students
progress. Art of Problem Solving would provide help in accommodating
different learning styles in the classroom. The videos from this website could
contain different ways of explaining topics for students who may not
understand my method of explanation at first. Also, the webquest Math
Do I really need to know this? would be ideal for me to use since I once
asked my middle school math teacher this same questions. I feel it is
important for students to understand that math is a critical part of many
professions that they will choose from for their future.
Learning Science is a great tool I could use to acquire help from my
peers. I could find lesson plans and supplemental items to use in my
classroom. While it is limited to a specific area, Periodic Videos has great
videos I could use to help my students to better understand the elements.
These videos show experiments being done that may not be possible for me
to complete in the classroom. Also, PhET Interactive Simulations is a great
tool I could use to give my visual learners a better picture of how certain
phenomenon occur. Matter with its Many States and Changes is one
webquest that I would use in my science class to help students understand
and have fun with this concept.
Each of the game websites, including Utah Education Network for
reading, Math Play for math, and Ed Heads for science, would be
wonderful for my students to use during free-time. In my ideal classroom, I
would have a computer station with at least two computers. When my
students have finished their in class assignments or tests, I would allow a
couple at a time to play in these websites while the other students are
completing their work. I believe my students would enjoy these websites as a
sort of reward, and I would be happy that they are still learning while having
fun.
As for the presentation tools, Capzles would be a fun tool to use to
show my students what our upcoming unit or class period will consist of. My
students could also use this as a presentation tool for projects. Animoto
would be ideal to use when recapping my students presentations. I could
use this as a sort of slide show to display each students or groups work.
Glogster would also be fun to use to create presentations for a lesson.
Especially in reading or science, I could use this tool to present topics as a
whole, such as a story the class has read, or to make a detailed and
interesting graphic organizer.
