A. The Lesson
1. Introduction
o Students will begin with the pretest (7 minutes)
o How many of you have iPads at home? How many of you have ever
seen an iPad or played a game on the iPad?
o Today we are going to go through the rules of the iPad so that we know
how to be safe with the iPad.
o It is a big responsibility to be able to work with the iPad and we need
to learn the rules before we are able to even work with the iPads.
2. Content Delivery
o The very first rule that we are going to talk about is that you need to have
clean hands before even touching the iPad. You need to take the time to
wash your hands so that we dont get it dirty for the other students.
o The second rule that we need to follow is that once you get your iPad you
are supposed to carry it like this (hands crossed across the back of the iPad
and holding it against your chest) so that we are able to keep it safe while
we are walking across the classroom.

o The third rule that we need to follow is that once you get to your spot, you
need to stay seated while working on the iPad. Whether you are at your
desk or on the ground, keep the iPad where it is supposed to be.
o When you are working on the iPad, you should not hit, bang, or slam the
iPad on the ground or towards other students. If I see this, you will not be
able to work on the iPads.
o The final rule that we are going to go through as a group is that we need to
clear out of what we were working on in the day. I will go through this
with you a little more when it comes to the time when we are working on
the iPads.
3. Closure (include time allotment)
o We are not going to be able to work on the iPads today but I want to make
sure that we know the rules before we actually work with the iPads. We
are now going to color this sheet to make sure that we know the order of
the rules.
o I want you to color the picture of the person washing their hands blue.
This is our first rule.
o Now can you color the picture green of the person holding the iPad the
way that we are supposed to.
o Please color the picture of the girl sitting criss-cross apple sauce to show
how we are supposed to sit when we have the iPad.
o Now please color the stop sign that lets us know that we can not hit, bang,
or slam the iPad to the ground.
o Good job today kindergarten, can you please go put your work in the
mailbox when you are done.
B. Assessments Used
I will give them a work sheet at the end that they are going to color to match with
the rules that we were learning for the day. I am going to collect them and monitor while
the students are coloring to make sure that they understand what we are working on and
learning.

C. Differentiated Instruction
All students are near the same level but 1-on-1 help is available while we are
working on the worksheet.
