Social Media Speeds up our Generation
Almost everyone in our society is exposed to inappropriate things in social media
nowadays. The people in the United States are getting conformed to the exposure of
women in television, social media and in reality. Sending a message that it is okay for
women to act in a revealing way. Women back in the older times would dress more
conservative and it wasnt considered normal for women to expose so much of their body.
The internet through the use of social media has tried to make it normal for women to
post revealing images. Most people in the United States dont think there is anything
wrong with inappropriate post. Our society has basically said that porn in social media is
okay. Not everyone that uses social media post sexual things but they for sure at one
point or another seen someone post something about it. People in the United States think
there is nothing wrong with women exposure in social media but there is because of
younger generations, objectivity of women, and standards in the daily lives of the average
women.
Our generation has been exposed to sexual post and revealing women. Younger
teens are already having a mindset that it is okay for women to be that way and already

getting sexual thoughts at a young age. According to the Huffington Post for younger
teens it can be harmful because they are mentally vulnerable. Having teens look at men
and women be that revealing gives them a mindset that its the normal and thats how
teens have to appear as well. This can lead to younger teens posting pictures that are
inappropriate for their age. With younger teens posting images that are not normal for
their age it can lead to cyberbullying, sexting, and sexual harassment. Younger teens that
are posting images or comments about anything sexual can be cyber bullied by other
classmates in their school. The behavior of posting inappropriate things online can lead to
younger teens sexting which can end up leading to other behavior. Social media such as
Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook people can interact with people that follow you or
that you are friends with. Letting communication between strangers when posting things
that are inappropriate for these teens that are too young to do can lead to an increase in
younger teenage pregnancy. Studies shown by the Department of the Health and Human
Services say that
In 2013, there were 26.5 births for every 1,000 adolescent females ages 15-19, or
273,105 babies born to females in this age group. Nearly eighty-nine percent of these
births occurred outside of marriage.
Given this information one can acknowledge that social media puts these ideas in
younger teens heads. If younger teenage males werent used to seeing this so normal they
would be more conservative and teen pregnancies would decrease. Male teens have also
gotten into the mindset that it is okay to enable other behavior we see today.

Women have suffered the struggle of having equal rights across the world and the
United States wasnt any different back in the 18-1900s as well. According to
History.com on Election Day in 1920 everyone had the right to vote but women. They
fought to have the right to vote and an amendment to the constitution was added to let all
women have the right to vote. Something as basic as voting for women was a struggle
and the womans struggle continues today with the help of social media. Women are being
more objectified because of social media, women are asked around social media to
expose themselves to the world. It has become so popular that it has actually become a
business as we all call it porn. Business online profit from the videos that they create
objectifying them as a sexual desire and its normal to do. According to Psychology today
watching any type of sexual post enables men to objectify women in how they should
look. This would be affecting our younger generation because they start to feel selfconscious. They feel like they need to be looking a certain way. Women become more
objectified not only through social media applications but as well as through
advertisements we see on television.
