From where did race become a modern day factor?

Daily we walk in fear of judgment and of fate.
It seems as if many in society are actors,

We say one thing and do another, Oh America the Great.

Race today consumes the mind with wonder.

Black, brown or blue, is it not just skin that we view?
It is as if one day this nation will go under.

Under great distress did we erase the lines that we once drew.

Red, white and blue mean opportunity and freedom.

Will there ever be a change?

We must not bring in a new generation and mislead them.

It is first in our values of race we must rearrange.
I see a day where this nation will rise.
It is equality that is the great prize.
