Objectives
Through a developmentally appropriate, cohesive approach, students will
have regular chances to:
Foster developmentally suitable behavioral skills that can
be used in everyday situations.
Demonstrate an understanding of themselves and others.
Build and maintain positive relationships
Exhibit respectful behavior in and outside the classroom
Model appropriate leadership skills
Recognize and properly react to wrongful behavior, such as
bullying or gossip
Assessments
We used pre- and post-test scores taken at the beginning of the first
session and the end of the fourth session.
Results from pre- and post-test will be used to evaluate the effectiveness
of the program

Results

Impact

After the completion of the core curriculum lessons, students


Felt more comfortable acting as a leader in their peer
groups
Felt a greater sense of empathy for others
Showed better knowledge of gossip and its impact
Felt more confident going to a trusted adult to report an
incident
Showed increased abilities to apply knowledge into real
situations

Networking
Upon retrieval of the data, I plan to share the results with other
counselors, stakeholders, parents/ guardians, teachers, and school
administration.

In order to increase awareness and leadership abilities,


Assessments will be given at the beginning of each school
year to provide needs of each incoming class
The school counselor will collaborate with teachers on
students needs as well
Core curriculum will be taught to all three grade levels at

different points of the school year
