Just like other cases in the incident that accord in Ferguson Missouri where an unarmored
teenager, was shoot and killed by a police officer. The articles relating to the tragic
incident ; included unnecessary information that was irrelevant to what had taken place in
an attempt to draw the attention away from what had actually happened . Important facts
are left out and the article is merely filled with fillers. articles written by CNN, Infotrac
Newsstand and New York Times confirms this, leaving out words changes the entire feel of
an article.. "Suspect in a theft.......... Suspected of stealing this information is unnecessary and
only added in an attempt to discredit or make the victim appear less innocent. Media tends to
start from the hard core facts of situations by doing so they generally favor one side or person in
a story. More often than not media will negatively portray some aspect of the racial status quo in
America. That a majority of the population is in denial about, because of the form information
they are feed. " in the shooting" shows examples of how words that are similar and interchanged
for each other I'm the article instead of using murder or homicide it's referred to as a shorting
which slightly softens the perception of the situation. These are examples of how media attempts
to maintain the racial status quo.
