Assessment of Pupils Progress
Assessing students work
1. How did the teacher monitor classroom activities?
By observing them and making sure that each student understood the instructions that were given
by the teacher.
2. What sort of designated assessment tasks are integrated within classwork?
The teacher would use a variety of different types of learning activities that would maintain the
childrens interest. All the activities given to the students are simple and they review what they
learned at the Circle time center.
3. How does s/he assess the learning during lesson?
The teacher would be making eye contact, roaming around, and observing each child to see who
understood the lesson and who is struggling. She personally told me that if a student needed help
she would lean down to be closer to she/he.
4. How did s/he give feedback to facilitate learning?
She would praise the students who did really good and finished fast and would either give them a
star stamp on their hand or paper. She would also give parents feedback through the students
communication book.

5. Did s/he give homework?

Ms. Ebtihal uses the communication book, the students review what theyve learned in class and
the parents can help them with their homework. If their homework was challenging they would
leave it and go back to it when its less challenging with the help of the teacher or parents.
6. Which of these strategies would you use/not use? Why?
I would like to use the communication book in the future, because its a great way to keep the
parents updated with their childs education and communicate with the teacher.
7. Was there anything that could have been done differently?
Ms. Ebtihal has shown me the communication book and I think that everything was managed and
organized very well. It would be nice if parents and teachers could write each other their notes
and thoughts and give a reply if possible.
8. What surprised you?
Ive had just 10 observations, but with time I have noticed just how much the students have
grown. Ive personally grown attached to the students, Ms. Ebtihal and also the colleagues and
that includes the nurse.
9. What shocked you?
The students compared to how they were during my 1st observation, its such a big
accomplishment to see the students who were shy and didnt participate are doing so now and
same goes for the ones who misbehaved.

10. What delighted you?

Im very glad that I choose this grade, although the students are still very young and Ms.
Ebtihal is teaching them alone without any assistance. Shes very skilled and has the
ability to communicate with me, her colleagues and also her students. She gives off this
motherly vibe that makes you look up to her and feel comfortable, it was such an
incredible experience and I hope I can learn from this and make a good use of it in the
future.
