Logical Mathematical Intelligence
What is Logical Mathematical Intelligence and Reading Strategies? People who are strong in
Logical-mathematical intelligence are good at reasoning, recognizing patterns and logically
analyze problems. People who have Logical Mathematical Intelligence tend to think
conceptually about numbers, relationship and patterns. Some of the characteristic of people who
have Logical Mathematical intelligence are, They have Excellent Problem- solving skills. Enjoy
thinking about abstract Ideas, they are also good at solving complex computation. After
reviewing the skills of online learning and reading I am confident enough that I use Logical
Mathematical Intelligence for learning online as well as traditional way of learning. While
Studying or preparing something that needs to be memorized I make a lists of key concepts,
making a table, important aspects and writing out facts to remember and get it memorised. For
instance In grade 11 Biology class we had a test on what does each bacteria cause and what are
the symptoms and how can it be cured so I learned the names of bacteria, what infections they
cause, and what antibiotics treat them I made a flowchart so this way I memorized it and got
good grades from that day I started writing out facts and making a tabular chart, this made more
comfortable memorize rather than reading again and again. This method adds benefits
immediately showing you exactly which facts haven't made it into your long-term memory so
you can focus more attention on learning them rather than wasting time reinforcing facts you
already know. I believe in creative learning as I make a memory tree to memorize a large number
of facts, I find a way to relate them in my mind visually with a memory tree. Construct big
branches first, then leaves. Branches and leaves should carry labels that are personally
meaningful to you in some way, and the organization of the facts. For instance, Once when I was
in Grade 8 in India we had Dates and events test in History had to memorize all the important
dates and events in Indian history so I made a memory tree which made my life easier to
memorize the whole page of Dates and events. To increase my ability in Learning, writing and
reading I would include making of codes and making keywords of mine own to remember if had
to learn/ memorize different types of diseases caused by contamination of water or different parts
of the brain this way I won't forget during a test or an examination. Making Codes/ Keyword
uses image association mental labels for the information you want to memorize. I also want to
improve my link method which I fail to do while reading and writing. Link method will
strengthen my strategies. Link method means to create the first link to associate the first two
items with each other using a memorable mental image. For the second link associate the second
image with the third. For the third link associate the third image with the fourth. This method
will also improve your note making skills which so helpful to be successful. These are the
techniques which already have and some techniques which I want to include which will increase
my ability in reading and writing strategies this way I can be successful.
