Designs treatment 3D, IMRT, SBRT, SRS plans in accordance with the

Radiation Oncologist's prescription considering dose limiting structures in


the design of such plan under the direction of the Medical Physicist.
Communicate these designed plans to physician for plan approval, and to the
Radiation Therapists for plan implementation.
Document doses in patients record in accordance with the Radiation
Oncologist's prescription.
Supervise, perform, or assist in the production of immobilization devices.
Assist the therapy staff in the implementation of the treatment plan and
problem solving including: the correct use of immobilization devices,
compensators, wedges, field arrangement, or other treatment variables as
well as image guided radiotherapy or respiratory gating.
Assist in all CT simulations, directing therapist on how patient should be
scanned.
Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures by utilizing images
from one or more data sets.
Proficient in image registration with various image data sets to include CT,
MRI and PET.
Assist the physician in special clinical problems, and retreatments.
Must possess mathematical skills including algebra, trigonometry, and
calculus and be able to visualize objects in three-dimensional concepts to
facilitate the treatment planning process.
Verify the mathematical accuracy of all calculations using a system
established by the Medical Physicist.
Operate and perform quality assurance on the treatment planning computer
under the direction of the Medical Physicist.

Operate and perform quality assurance of patient charts weekly and at end of
treatment for accurate documentation and dosage.
Supervise, perform, or assist in the application of specific methods of
dosimetry including ion chamber, TLD, or film measurement as directed by
the Medical Physicist.
Maintain licensure and stay current with new technology.
Teach applied aspects of medical dosimetry to visiting residents, as assigned.
Follow HIPPA guidelines.
Assists with the planning and participates in supporting programs to ensure
effective and safe use of radiation and radionuclides in patients.
Assist Medical Physicist in HDR treatment planning.
Must be able to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Must be able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide
range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal
symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc). Ability to deal with
a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Maintain accurate billing for all procedures performed under the Physics
department.
Participate in clinical research.
