Dear Selection Committee Members,

I am pleased to offer you this letter of consideration on behalf of Jena Davis, an outstanding current member of
our New Hope-Solebury staff. Jena is not only a certified English teacher; she has a variety of experience in the realm of
special education and is currently pursuing her masters in the field. I have been lucky enough to teach alongside her as
she has worked with every department from science to math, and in multiple sections of my own World History course.
Her experiences in a multitude of learning environments with students of all ages have resulted in a well-rounded, quick
and critical thinker an asset to any teaching team.

Jena joined the New Hope-Solebury community as substitute teacher following graduation, quickly grasping onto
the opportunity to expand her pedagogy in accepting back-to-back long-term substitute positions in both our Learning
Support and Life-Skills programs and as an aide to both middle school and high school students with autism. This quickly
sparked an interest into the world of special education and halfway through the 2014-2015 school year, I was fortunate
enough to have Jena promote to a full installment as instructional assistant in multiple periods of my courses. An active
member of the English Education Honors Fraternity, she has consistently contributed ideas for ways we can incorporate
better reading and writing methods into our class.

Now in her second year here, Jena is acting IA in my fully inclusive World History class, where she monitors,
creates modifications and personally works with multiple students with accommodations, in addition to my general
education population. She is required to do this in only one of my class periods she attends, but has completely taken it
upon herself to offer these services to all sections of that course that I teach even to students she does not see in the
classroom. She actively learns my social studies content daily so she can provide the best support for each student and
more impressively, she does the same for Biology 9 and Algebra 9 classes. Additionally, she performs daily progress
monitoring and assists various teachers in need of ideas for better ways to help their students. On a regular basis I am
astounded at the many hats Jena wears with exemplary rigor and professionalism.

When the school day is done, Jena continues her teaching well into the evening. She is active in the community as
a piano teacher, and takes time to teach all levels of yoga as a certified instructor. In fact, last year when I was teaching a
unit on East Asian belief systems and philosophies, Jena created a complete kinesthetic lesson on practicing yoga and
meditation with the entire student class instead of simply reading about it. Her innovation, creativity and constant passion
to help all students and expand her educational experiences make her a critical addition to any district lucky enough to
have her. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Best Regards,

!
