WORK EXPERIENCE
University of Idaho, Moscow, ID
March 2015 to August 2015
Temporary Hire, Research Assistant - Provided field assistance for professors and graduate students
Conducted plant surveys in Reynolds Creek and Challis, Idaho, focusing on impacts of wild horses in riparian
areas.
Measured biomass with field measurement tools and documented wild horse movement with the use of wildlife
cameras.
Performed vegetation sampling in Reynolds Creek, Idaho, examining the effectiveness of livestock grazing to
manage fuel loads in sagebrush steppe ecosystems.
University of Idaho, Moscow, ID
June 2014 to August 2014
Temporary Hire, Research Assistant - Provided field assistance to professors and graduate students
Performed vegetation sampling in Reynolds Creek, Idaho, examining the effectiveness of livestock grazing to
manage fuel loads in sagebrush steppe ecosystems.
Assisted with plant identification for a project with the Rocky Mountain Research Station to ground-reference
LIDAR data near the west side of Glacier National Park, Montana.

June 2013 to August 2013
Temporary Hire, Research Assistant - Provided field assistance to professors and graduate students
Performed vegetation sampling in the Owyhee Mountains, Idaho, looking at vegetation response to the 2007
Tongue Fire.
Collected duff samples to examine moisture to depth ratios in different successional stages.
Assisted with plant identification for a project with the Rocky Mountain Research Station to ground-reference
LIDAR data near the west side of Glacier National Park, Montana.
University of Idaho Experimental Forest, Moscow, ID

Center for Natural Lands Management, Temecula, CA
December 2009 to August 2011
Ranger Provided science-based stewardship of biologically sensitive habitats throughout north San Diego County
Developed annual work plans for preserves using baseline inventories and preserve-specific management and
restoration objectives.
Conducted vegetation surveys to inventory species within preserves. Surveys contributed to early detection and
mapping of invasive weeds and the discovery of a federally endangered plant previously undetected in the area.
Conducted avifauna surveys that contributed to CNLMs long-term data on the federally endangered California
gnatcatcher and least Bells vireo.
Documented the movement of large mammal species through wildlife corridors by installing and monitoring
wildlife cameras at strategic locations within preserves.
Implemented restoration plans, including managing sub-contractors, installing and maintaining irrigation systems,
installing plants, and controlling weeds.
Obtained Qualified Applicators License from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation; maintained all
pesticide use reports for CNLM preserves in San Diego County; treated invasive plants using backpack sprayers
and tractor boom sprayer.
Managed public safety hazards and ecological threats by removing non-native trees and brush using chainsaws
and pole saws.
Controlled unauthorized access to sensitive areas by maintaining fencing and signage and partnering with local
law enforcement to address trespass issues; resulting in a 60% reduction in trespass in biologically sensitive areas.
Provided public outreach about CNLMs mission and activities by training and managing volunteers during
habitat restoration events, maintaining kiosks and signage, and collaborating with citizens and other groups on
specific projects.
Submitted monthly status reports on activities and formal annual reports for habitat preserves to document
progress made toward restoration goals and to document compliance on conservation easement projects. Used
GIS software to create maps of weeds, areas of special concern, and public trails to communicate with Preserve
Managers, sub-contractors, and the general public.
