Notes: When we got there his dad told us that he didnt get a nap today but they didnt know if he had dosed off on the bus. It was too cold to play outside and he
refused after multiple times asking him. He is starting to say more sounds that relate to the words we are prompting him to say such as op, bbb, rrrmm, ar.

Impression: Alex has been making such great progress with his two goal of signing multiple signs as well as signing stop. We still are
struggling to get him to go outside because he would rather play inside and see his family. The time when we come to do our
interventions are when his siblings come home from school and that makes it a little difficult for us to keep him focused. So he refuses to
go outside when we ask him if he would like to. Plus today it was really windy and cold so he had no desire to go outside. But we saw
great progress with Alex signing please stop while playing with cars. He even signed it when his brother Caleb was in his way. We are
so happy that he is starting to understand the context in which he signs stop and to not just do it when we ask him to.
Objective Description of Data and Observations: While playing with cars downstairs, Alex likes to drive them along this ledge on the
wall that is kind of like a window sill but it goes around the wall to the cabinets. Alex drives it along a pathway. I took another car and
would drive it behind him. But sometimes I would drive my car ahead of him in the opposite direction so that we would run into one
another. When I saw that Alex was getting frustrated I would ask what do you say? and with only that indirect prompt he would sign
please stop. As you can see from the data above he had an 82% accuracy in this task. When Brittney did this same activity with Alex
he was a 56% accuracy. This data includes other times in the session when she asked him what to say. Throughout the day we played
with a ball and other toys. He was at a 61% accuracy with signing two words in a row with mostly indirect verbal prompts.
Assessment and Evaluation: From the data above we see improvement in both signing please stop as well as signing two words in a
row. We are now at a point with Alex when he will respond to mostly indirect verbal prompts whereas when we first started with him he
would only sign with us when we gave him a direct prompt with a model of the sign. This shows that he has learned how to read our
body language, listen to us, and he has built greater rapport as well with us. With going outside we have seen progress when we can get
him to go out there and become more attentive. There were some days in our intervention sessions where Alex would ride his trike up
and down the driveway and sidewalk so that he could practice multiple times. But today we werent able to get him out there.
Plan: For our very last day of intervention we need to get Alex to go play outside! Our plan is to bring bubbles and say that we have to go
outside and play with them. We also want to get his siblings involved in his goal to sign please stop so that we can see if Alex can
apply it in a real life situation instead of having us take a toy or get in his way. We are also going to do a final interview with mom to see
in what areas Alex improved from the first time that we administered the Vineland.
