FOCUS OF LESSON: Safety, Streamline position, flutter kick, rhythmic breathing
STUDENT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES (SPO):

Check each objective: Is it specific? Is it achievable? Is it developmentally appropriate?
TEACHER PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES - During the lesson the teacher will:
1. Check understanding for skill cues
2. Use students to model good behavior and demonstrate activities
3. Give positive and corrective feedback to students throughout the entire lesson
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the students
in this class?
Since it is a pool there is always that risk of a student drowning. The pool is probably the most dangerous
place a PE lesson can occur so the teacher needs to keep his or her head on a swivel. The safety rules
need to be addressed and followed. No diving in shallow end, weaker swimmers start in shallow end,
remind students of space awareness during the lesson.
