Unit 6: Family Project Packet

Here are the Rules!


1. Do not let your egg-babies die!
2. Do not let your children out of your sight (babies must be with you at all times!)
3. No babysitting
4. Injured children (cracks) can be taken to the doctor (Mr. Ring)
5. Eggnapping can either be taken care of through paying of ransom or through the police;
however, the police will impact grade (Mr.Ring)
4. All homes MUST be in the Westerville School District
5. Maximum of two kids per room in a home
6. Every working adult needs a car
7. Contact with outside agencies and field trips may be necessary
8. DO NOT purchase anything from the grocery store for this project
9. Complete the year long budget using take home income
This will be what you submit at the end of the project along with your children and family budget.

Ingredients: 1 ground turkey, 1 egg, 1 onion chopped, 1 cup milk, 1 cup dried up bread
crumbs, salt and pepper to taste, 2 tablespoons brown sugar and prepared mustard, cup
ketchup

Meal 2: Arroz con pollo
Ingredients: 2 teaspoons salt, teaspoons pepper, 3-4 lb chicken, 3 tbs vegtable oil,

Meal 3: Spaghetti
Ingredients: 2lbs Italian sausage, (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes, 2(6 ounce) cans tomato
paste, 2cups water (for a long period of simmering for flavors to meld. If you don't want to
simmer it as long, add less), 1teaspoon salt, 14-12teaspoon, 14teaspoon fresh coarse ground
black pepper, 14cup red wine (a good Cabernet!), 1lb thin spaghetti, parmesan cheese

Meal 4: Baked Ziti


Ingredients: 1 pound dried ziti pasta, Kosher salt, 3 1/2 cups Quick Tomato Sauce, recipe
follows, 1 pound fresh parmesan, half cut into 1/2-inch cubes and half thinly sliced, 3/4 cup
freshly grated Parmesan, divided, 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Meal 5: Lasagna
Ingredients: 3 cup ricotta cheese, 12 ounce shredded mozzarella cheese (about 3 cups), cup
grated Parmesan cheese, 2 eggs, 1 pound ground beef, 1 jar (45 ounces) Prego Three
Cheese Italian Sauce, 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained

number of beds and baths, home insurance and car insurance
Day 4 - progressive, investments in groceries, children clothing, miscellaneous possessions
Day 5 - the pricing was the main factor of where you shopped and what brand you chose to
purchase. The brand determines the quality you are getting for the food, and how much you
will be paying for the food.
Day 6 - There is a lot in need of learning before going out on your own and fending for yourself.
Learn to budget, will help in future with finances. Babies are expensive, don't have them until
ready
