Draw a 9 square on each corner of the fabric. Cut out the drawn squares (Fig. 1).
Fold the fabric, rights sides together, diagonally, aligning the cut 9 edges to form the first
corner on the sheet (Fig. 2). Sew the 9 edges together with a 1/4 seam. Repeat with
the remaining three corners to create the sheet with box corners.
Fold under the raw edges around the sheet and then a second . Topstitch the
folded edge in place.
Cut (4) 12 pieces of elastic. Fold one piece of elastic in half, align the fold with one
corner sewn and tack stitch in place.
Use a Zig-Zag stitch to sew one half of the elastic from the center of the corner,
stretching the elastic while sewing the zig-zag seam. Repeat with the other side of the
corner and the second half of the elastic to complete one corner.
Repeat Step 5 with the remaining pieces of elastic and three other corners to finish the

Measure from the bottom of the mattress to the floor to determine the height of the dust ruffle. Add 2 to the height for
seam allowance.
Cut and sew strips of fabric together to make one height x 241 strip of fabric.
Fold the bottom edge of the 241 strip, 1 and then another 1 and top stich in place to make the bottom hem of the dust
ruffle.
Using your favorite method, ruffle the top raw edge of the fabric.
Align the ruffled raw edge of the dust ruffle with the raw edge of the 29 x 53 muslin, right sides together. Start along
the center of one side. Leave 2 tail and use a zig-zag stitch to sew the ruffle in place, continue around the raw edges of
the muslin. Once you come around to the beginning ruffle tail Stop 10 from the beginning tail.
Measure the end tail of the ruffle to meet the beginning tail and add . Trim the excess ruffle from the strip.
Using a seam allowance, place the beginning tail and the end tail right sides together and join the two ends of the
ruffle together.
Now re-align the raw edge of the ruffle with remaining edge of the muslin to finish sewing the ruffle in place.
Turn the dust ruffle right side out and press to complete.
