Figure below shows an epicyclic gear train. The carrier (link 1) is driven by an
electric motor rated at 3600 rpm, clockwise. The sun (gear 2) is fixed and has 12
teeth. The sun meshes with three planet gears (gear 3, gear 4 and gear 5) of equal
size. The planet gears are spaced at an angular distance of 120 between each other
and have 18 teeth each. The ring (gear 6) serves as the output from the train. All the
gears have the same module.

Determine the rotational velocity of all members of this gear train.
(Ans: N6 = 48; 1 = 3600 rpm CW, 2 = 0, 3 = 4 = 5 = 6000 rpm CW, 6
