HANS AND THE MAGIC LAMP

SCENE 1
In a gorgeous big bungalow in Paris, lived a young man named Hans. He was
born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Hans lived with his benevolent paternal
father, Adam. His mother died when he was 10.
Hans : Dad! I want new clothes and new shoes!
Adam : Anything for you son. I can give you anything you want. Just name it. Come,
lets go shopping.
Hans : Yeaa!! I love you dad. (hugging Adam)
Adam kept pampering his biological son and abandoned his two step-children,
Henry and Ballerina. Because of that, Zueka, Hans step-mother intended to kill
Adam so she could steal Adams wealth.
Adam : (reading newspaper)
Zueka : (puts poison in tea) Here is your tea, Adam. Make sure you drink it before it
gets cold.
Adam : Thank you, Zueka. (drinks tea and dies)
On Adams funeral day, everyone was in grieving except Zueka, Henry and
Ballerina.
Adam : (laying on the stage)
Hans : Dad! Dad! Dont leave me, please . . . (crying)
Zueka : (pretend sad) Stop Hans. Enough. Your dad is no longer in this world.
Hans : Dad . . .

SCENE 2
Hans sat on a bench in a park. He felt very sad and lonely. Hans was singing a
song when a girl come near him.
Hans : (singing)
Jasmine : Hello, young man. Are you the one who was singing just now?
Hans : (speechless when he sees the princess)
Jasmine : Hello Hello (waving her hand in front of Hanss face)
Hans : (back in reality) Ah, sorry (wondering) Are you Princess Jasmine?
Jasmine : Yes!! How do you know my name?
Hans : Princess Everybody knows you
Jasmine : Oh, yes sure. By the way, whats your name?
Hans : My name is Adam Hans. Just call me Hans.
Jasmine : Hans, Im going to celebrate my birthday tonight. Come to my palace.
Everybody is invited.
Hans : Thank you princess for the invitation. I will come to the palace tonight to meet
you.
Hans felt very happy because he got the chance to talk with the princess. He
really couldnt wait to go to the palace. On his way home, he found a strange
old magic lamp in a dry drain. He brought the magic lamp home.
Hans : Wow This lamp looks unique! I should keep it for my collection.

SCENE 3
Hans put the magic lamp somewhere in his room and then his wicked stepmother called him to do all of the house chores.
Zueka : Hans! Come into my room! Close the door!
Hans : (Rushing) (Close the door)
Zueka : Well, since we have a lot of time. You will be having so much fun doing the
chores. You know the large cupboard in the living room? Clean it! Then, you
need to sweep the floor, scrub the terrace, wash the dishes, clean the chimney
and
Hans : But mom, I already did those chores.
Zueka : Hold your tongue Hans! Just do them again, okay? Now, take my dirty
clothes, wash them and mend the laundry, understand?!
Hans : Yes, mom. (Go away with sad face)
Poor little Hans had to do all the chores again. He was very sad. While he was
scrubbing the floor, something caught his attention. (knock at the door)
Kings Man

: Open up in the name of the King. There is an urgent message from his
imperial majesty. (Opens the envelope)

Zueka

: Oh! Its a proclamation from the King! (excited)

High Duke

: In honour of his highness, the princess and by royal command, every

eligible man is needed to attend the princess birthday party tonight!

Everyone was very excited to go to the party including Hans. He wanted to go

to the party to meet Princess Jasmine. He missed the princess so much. He
went to ask for his stepmothers permission.
Hans : Mom, can I come with you guys to the party? (walks slowly towards them)
Zueka : Of course Hans. If you can get your work done and if you can find some
suitable clothes. (evil laugh)
Hans didnt get chance to go to the party because his stepmother burdened
him with another list of chores that needed to be done. Besides, he didnt have
any suitable clothes to wear to a nice occasion like that since Zueka had taken
all his nice clothes and gave them to Henry.

SCENE 4
Hans walked into his room and dropped onto his bed. He talked to himself
about how the royal birthday party looked. He wanted to go, but there was not
enough time to do all of the chores.
Hans : How I wish to be at the birthday party! (His hand touches something)
Suddenly, he felt like something strange was going on. He woke up from his
bed and saw the magic lamp. But, what made him confused was that he saw
Princess Jasmine on the lamp!
Hans : Oh my Princess! You are here again! (Kisses the lamp). (Pooff !!!) (A genie
appears)
Genie : Hello master! I am the genie of the lamp and I am here to grant you three
wishes. Anything that you wish is my command.
Hans : Hmm.. You know what, I really want to go to the royal birthday party but my
step-mother wont allow me to go if I dont finish my work and I dont even
have any suitable clothes to go there.
Genie : Oh, thats easy my master. I will make your step-mother go to sleep early
tonight so she wont notice when you go to the party. Abracadabra!!
Hans : (sneaks out of the room). Thanks a lot genie! Wow, shes asleep! But, I dont
have any suitable clothes!
Genie : Thats a small matter master, Abracadabra!
Hans : Wow! Its amazing Genie. Thank you so much. We have one more problem! I
dont know how to get there. The party is about to start.
Genie : There you go! (spell them magic broom) Abracadabra! Remember one
simple rule master, Dont sneeze unless you want the magic to be broken.

SCENE 5
Later, Hans went to the palace. As soon as he arrived, he saw the palace was
so beautiful with lights on in every building. Then, he entered the ballroom and
saw Princess Jasmine.
Jasmine

: Hans! Hans! (run towards him excitedly). Oh, finally you come. I
thought you would never come.

Hans

: Oh, Im sorry that Im late Jasmine. But tonight, you look so beautiful.

Jasmine

: You also look handsome, Hans. Come, lets join the party.

They went to the party. At that time, many couples were dancing gracefully.
Hans

: Jasmine, will you dance with me?

Jasmine

: Oh, dear! Its my pleasure to be your partner.

Then, they danced together. The music accompanied them. It made the party
romantic. Later, Jasmine asked something.
Jasmine

: Hans, I have something to tell you.

Hans

: What is it?

Jasmine

: Actually, I have fallen in love with you. I dont know when, but I always
miss you. Do you love me?

Hans

: (Dont know how to answer) ErmErmPrincess, Actually

Suddenly, Hans sneezed. His suit changed into his casual clothes. Hans
immediately ran away from Princess Jasmine. As he ran, his shoes suddenly
fell off from his feet. He didnt have enough time to go back for the shoes as he
saw Princess Jasmine ran after him.
Jasmine

: Hans! Hans! Wait for me! Dont leave me like this!

Hans felt sad as he left Jasmine without replying. Then, Hans searched for his
broom. Unfortunely he couldnt find it. So Hans went back home on foot. At
home, his step-family waited for him with angrily in the living room.
Zueka

: Hey stupid son! Where did you go? Didnt I asked you to clean the
house? Why is it still messy?

Hans

: Mum, I already cleaned this.

Ballerina

: Dont believe him, mum! He went to the party. Thats why he didnt
clean the house or do the chores.

Hans

: Thats a lie. I did all my work before I went to the party.

Henry

: What??? (shocked) You went to the party. In those clothes?? Huh so

disgusting.

Zueka

: From today forward you cant go anywhere. Ill never believe you
again. Lets go my children. Ignore him!

After his step-family went away, Hans cried sadly. He doesnt know when this
suffering will end. He hopes to achieve happiness, maybe with Princess
Jasmine.

SCENE 6
Then the announcement was made to find the real owner of those shoes.
Princess Jasmine kept the shoes nicely since that night.
Announcer

: In honour of his highness, the princess and by a royal command.

Every edible man is needed to try the shoes. Those who fit the shoes
will become our new prince.

Zueka, who heard about the proclamation immediately went back home. She
has to tell her son, Henry about this.
Zueka

: Son, you need to try on the shoes. You know what? If you can wear
the shoes, you will get to marry the princess. And I will be able to live in
a beautiful palace. Hahaha

Henry

: Really mum???

Behind the wall, was Hans, who heard everything. So, he decided to follow
them to town. Hans saw there were many guys who were waiting their turn to
try those shoes. Suddenly, Hans was being dragged off by the guard.
Guard

: Sir, you have to queue!

Hans

: Oh, okay.

Meanwhile, his step-brother, Henry, was trying on the shoes, but the shoes did
not fit perfectly on his feet.
Henry

: Yes, I can wear these shoes!!! See!!! See!!!

Butler

: Sorry sir. They dont fit . You may go now.

Henry

: They fit. Look man! They fit nicely, right?

Zueka

: Yes son. They look nice on you!

Butler

: Please sir, take the shoes off from your feet.

Henry

: I dont want to! Run! (Henry runs to avoid the guards)

Later, Henry was caught by the guards. After seeing that situation, Hans just
shook his head. Suddenly, the butler came towards Hans.

Butler

: Sir, please try this shoes!

Butler

: Wow, the shoes fit him perfectly! He will marry the princess! Bring
Princess Jasmine here.

Jasmine

: Oh, Hans. You are my prince. Lets get married. (Jasmine offer her
hand)

After that, the crowd cheered and finally they found a new prince for the
country. They got married and lived happily ever after.
