Hebrews Connection to God

In the first nine chapters of Genesis, God created everything visible in the world. He
created all humanity, nature, and animals on Earth. The Hebrews were the first people created by
God. Hebrews had an exclusive and special bond with God, (Yahweh). This is shown through the
stories of Adam and Eve, Noah and his family, and Cain and Abel.

The first story that shows that Hebrews had a special bond with Yahweh is the story of
Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve were the first two humans placed on earth. Not only do they show
a special bond with God, but also with each other. God created Adam out of dust, but Eve was
made out of Adams rib. In Genesis 1, it states that God made human in His image, So God
created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He
created them (Genesis 1:27). This stated that humans have a special bond with God, He created
us in His image. He did not create a different animal in His image. Secondly, Hebrews having a
special bond with God is shown later in Genesis 1, God blessed them (Genesis 1:28). When
God blesses someone, that means He has more than a regular relationship. He has an intimate
relationship with whoever he blesses. We also find God's relationship in verses 28-30, Then
God said, I give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the earth and to all the beasts of
the earth to the birds in the sky, everything that has breath in it. (Genesis 1:28-30). God
provided his whole creation from day one for Adam and Eve to be in control. God gave them

everything except the one tree of knowledge of good and evil. Hebrews like Adam and Eve have
a special bond with Yahweh, because God chose them to rule over everything, and they were
created in His image. This did not happen to any other creature on earth.

The second group of Hebrews that had a special bond with Yahweh is Noah and his
family. The bond is shown in Genesis 6 and 7, So the Lord said I will blot out man whom I've
created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things the birds of heavens, for
I'm sorry that I have made them. (Genesis 6:7). These verses show that Noah had a special bond
with Yahweh, because he found favor in the Lord's eyes. In Chapter six, God told Noah how he
has found Noah's family is the only family in the world at that time as godly people. There is
more evidence of the special bond later on in verse 8, But Noah found favor in the eyes of the
Lord. (Genesis 6:8). We see it here again that Yahweh found favor in Noah. Not many people in
this World would find favor in God's eyes, but the Hebrews were good at doing this. God starts
telling Noah what His plan is for him in verses 13-14. And God said to Noah, I have
determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold
I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopher wood." (Genesis 6:13-14).
This verse shows another part of what God's plan was for the earth. He wanted Noah and his
family to go in an ark, because he had a relationship with God. These verses prove that Hebrews
like Noah were special with God, because God wanted to destroy everyone except Noah and his
family.

Thirdly, God had a special bond with Cain and Abel. This is in the story of the 3rd and
4th humans on this earth, the brothers Cain and Abel. We see this bond firstly in Chapter 4, And
the Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but with Cain and his offering, he had no

regard. (Genesis 4:4-5). This shows the special bond with Abel because of his offerings. Since
Abel offered the first-born of the animals as sacrifices to the Lord, the Lord looked with favor on
him. Another place in Genesis 4, we see a relationship between the Lord and Cain this time,
Then the Lord said to him. Not so! If anyone kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him
sevenfold. (Genesis 4:15). After the Lord shown favor on his older brother, Abel, Cain (the 4th
human) decided to murder Abel. Lastly, we see another part of his relationship with God, Then
the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him (Genesis 4:15B). In
this verse, not only does God only tell Cain that no one would kill him, but He also put a mark
on Cain that when anyone saw him, they wouldn't kill him. When God approached Cain, Cain
denied the murder at first. Then God shows that he knows everything. He told Cain that he will
basically be on his own, with everyone against him. Cain did not like this, because he thought
someone would kill him for what he did. Instead, because of God's special relationship with the
Hebrews, it is shown that God would cover for Cain. If anyone would kill him, that person would
be killed 7 times.

Hebrews had a special bond with God, Yahweh. This is shown through the stories of
Adam & Eve, Noah & his family, and Cain & Abel. God shows his relationships throughout the
whole chapter of Genesis. The stories are unlimited about God's presence in this world. Also we
find all of his promises, like the rainbow meaning He won't flood the earth again.. Even with
having a special bond with God, we find punishments to the Hebrews that still affect us. These
punishments are shown after Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge And Evil. The Bible
states that humans will have pain during birth, the earth will bring forth thorns and thistles, and it
will be hard work for man to yield crops.
