All teachers in Grades 4-12 will participate in the district

Canvas/Google PD Event
Three locations to be used
Moores Mill Intermediate School
Schools assigned to MMIS are: BHS, BMS, RIS, NM, HGHS, MVM, MMIS, HGES, WG

Madison County High School


Schools assigned to MCHS are: MCHS, MCES, CES, NHHS, NHES, OXR, MCCTC, PACE

Sparkman 9th Grade School


Schools assigned to S9G are: SHS, S9G, SMS, MMS, MES, LES, EES, MXR, HES
*RES, LFES, and MTC do not have teachers in this grade configuration

Teachers should eat before getting to PD Site (each school might want to provide a take out order

that day to a local restaurant so the teachers could grab a box lunch and eat quicklydutch treat)
Three 45-minute sessions will be offered at all locations (teachers may select sessions of their

choice) (a final program will be available before the PD Day)

Sign in sheets will be available for each school and individual sessions will have sign in sheets as

well

Parking may be tight at each school so carpooling is recommended for teachers that may be

from nearby schools

TIMS and classroom teachers will be facilitating/presenting at sessions


Teachers are encouraged to bring laptops, tablets, or phones (host school will not provide

computers for teachers)

All teachers should have a Canvas and Google account before attending. If uncertain, they should

contact their TIM for username/password

Handouts and/or Online resources will be available for all sessions (after the PD Day)
Administrators, Counselors, and Librarians are welcome to attend the PD sessions, too

ELEARNING DAY FOR HIGH


SCHOOL STUDENTS
All teachers should have an assignment available in Canvas for

students for that day (beginning a day or two before and ending a day
or two after)
Make sure the time of the assignment is not for the exact class time
for the student (so that they can work at their own schedule)
Please refer to the Information Sheet that Dr. Minskey sent for the last
eLearning Day for more details
Make sure you have a method to check attendance for students for
February 12th eLearning Day

CANVAS CARAVAN
I have begun setting up Canvas PD time at schools (particularly the elementary schools)
If you need me to come to your school to work with your teachers (small group or large

group), please contact me soon so that I can get your school on my calendar
Think about whether you want to provide subs so that the teachers can work for a
couple of hours, or if you want me to meet after school with your teachers, etc.
A new Canvas online course will begin the first week in February. Registration will

begin next Monday (January 25th) in STI PD. I will provide course number and more
information in an email to MCSEmployees on Monday. The course is six weeks in length
and is totally online.
