Learning Goal:
By the end of this assignment you will:
-Understand the purpose of each news report element
-Be able to write using factual formal language
-Organize ideas using the inverted pyramid structure
-Demonstrate your knowledge of the play through the news report format
-Understand the language suited for each part of a news report
-Use thinking skills to create additional facts relevant to the play
-Use technology to create a professional and organized layout.
Now that we have hit the height of the action in Romeo and Juliet, it is time to report on one of the main events
using the conventions as well as the format of a feature article.
TASK: Write a feature article that reports on one of the main events that have occurred so far in the play.
Remember, you cannot write about the lovers meeting because no one knows. You can write about the first
brawl in the city streets, Paris suit of Juliet, the Capulet ball, and the fatalities of the second fight.
Remember to actively use the writing process to craft your piece using the templates provided. When you
submit your final copy, you should have:

Evidence of peer editing
Remember to proofread what you have typed in order to catch the errors that spellcheck does not catch as
well as the silly errors in your writing. Read it outloud to yourself. Recall the writing goal you made for yourself
after the last assignment. Time to apply it.
